I accidentally refreshed the page when I was writing the original post for this, so instead of giving a background, let's just jump right in, shall we?
You know what a mixtape is? And not the new Starlito mixtape, it sucks.
Basically, this is music sharing project. You send me a small compilation of songs, and I send them to another participant at random. People post their thoughts and receive bacon.
Steps for success.
Step 1: You find 4 of your favorite songs, total runtime being less than 20 minutes (you have 5 minutes for each track), fix the ID tags so they're not all gayed up, compile in a zip file, and send to me. Name the zip file something memorable and don't use your username (something like "Avant-Garde Hipsterism" is acceptable, "Choofers Pack of Shit Music" is not).
Step 2: At a later date,I'll send them to people randomly.
Step 3: Once you have your mixtape/compilation, you have three days to post your thoughts on the music. You'll receive 2500 credits for your thoughts, even if they are overall negative. Don't think I'm forcing you into reviewing the mixtape you get, though. If you don't want to post about it, don't post. You'll only hurt the feelings of whoever made the mixtape!
Something to remember when posting your thoughts:
Everyone has different tastes in music, so keep it civil if you don't enjoy the music you receive.
And as an added bonus, once I have all of the mixtapes sent out, I'll update this OP with links to all of the mixtapes. The first three people to post thoughts for all of them will receive $10 of music from Beatport (whether that's an album or assorted singles).
Deadline for mixtapes is Saturday, July 21st. They'll be sent out on Sunday, July 22nd. Then you have until the 25th to post your thoughts.
