About 6 seconds of charge. This Shadower was 150+ I think. He barely got touched when he was fighting (usually 2-3 seconds of darksight, then assasinate, assaulter, keen dagger).

Jason, some Japanese are just assholes to outsiders.

This person would probably even bash myself and Cam just because we're American (even though our Japanese is probably much better than yours), although I must admit that Cam actually being of Japanese race would probably help (maybe not so much in the game since that doesn't really carry over, but I mean in general).

And yeah, Japan is based on respect and all that bullcrap (and it is), but they can be mean to gaijin, especially if they see what you've done as disrespectful (ie invading their game and interrupting their playing).

So, in short, the solution to your problem easily identifiable.Just learn fluent Japanese, as well as the written language, especially kanji, and you should be fine.

ps I'm not entirely familiar with Leafre monsters. Are those the ones I'll be at after Grims until FOREVER?

pps holy **** bishop so high damage. What kind of charge up does that skill have? How much slower than explosion is it? Doesn't it use like 4k MP too?

Case Study for Lower Lvl'd Genesis.

okay. this project is just to see if Genesis could be used at lower lvl's. To see ist usability at lvl1~10 Genesis,im using a lv 122~124 bishop video(ill post link later). and at later lvls, we have a lv155 for it.


Genesis Lv7~9 (unsure)

From the lv122~124 video, the whole starting point is done with an unknown lvl of Genesis (never shown), presumably from lv 1 ~ 9. 770MA (shown during mid-vid)

the only time it shows a noticeable MP reduction is during the start of the show. which is 6502-383. 2667 MP. some might say its a bump MP reduction, but assuming its max MG, thats 3300 damage. i never see that much damage throughout all the vids.


Genesis cast time

i used a stopwatch to time everytime the bishop did 3-genesis's

to conclude, it takes approx 7.5~8.5 seconds for 3 genesis casts, and approx 2.5+- seconds each cast.
(p.s, to test realtime, i took the time she took for healing. it took 5.88 seconds for 10 heals, which is very accurate to heals 90~95 times per minute)

So using the data's average, the mastery is approximately 75%~80% . with a 100% chance to 3-hit kill. Another thing to note, her max heal was 7378, which, IMO, is quite high for 770 MA?

Expected experience. assuming she took 7.5 seconds to kill 4~8 mobs of skel, and around 2/3 seconds to find more, expected exp is around 8m~13m per hour (without HS, without 2x). approximately 24m~39m with HS and 2x.

Expected pot usage, assuming she took 7.5 seconds and 2/3 seconds to find more, is 2.5m~3m MP per hour. thats approximately 625~750 elixirs.



Genesis Lv20

From the second video(lv155), i tried to analyze her MA. but seems like they never show her genesis lvl and her MA. so making blind guesses, the genesis can be lv 20 or lv 30 (not lv 10, since its impossible to get 50k damage with 470 base).

if the genesis is lv 30, she needs 770ma to do 53000 damage. please note, 770macan be achieved at lv 120. so if this priest has average equipments, she should have 900~950ma by now. making me believe that this is a lv20 Genesis.

of course, here i have to make lots of blind estimations, but there are the results

BIG CONCLUSION

To conclude, ill separate it to several sections


Damage Output

It seems that Genesis has a good mastery, (75%+), and also has a sure 100% 3-HKO for skelegons. this ensures good exp and clean training.


Cost

At first, 3m/hr seems like a large number. but taking how many u kill into consideration (approximately 2000~2300 skelegons), u will at least get 1m~2m back from money drops. so nett loss might not really be taht much.

looking from other points of view, an average person who takes hits every 2 seconds, will have to pay 1.3m~2m just for pot costs (assuming he gets hit 50% of the time).

As for equipment cost,


EXP

Two Words for it. approximately Godly. If used really efficiently, reaching 30~40m isnt much of a problem. how much is that? u can easily gain 210m overnight. which is 10% of the lv199-->lv200 requirement.

cant immagine that? well nvm. its approximately...

lv120~127 (1 lvl per hour)
lv127~144 (1 lvl per 2 hours)
lv144~153 (1 lvl per 4 hours)
lv153~167 (1 lvl per 8 hours)
lv167~180 (1 lvl per 16 hours)
lv 180~190 (1 lvl per 32 hours)
lv 190~200 (1 lvl per 64 hours)

so a casual bishops who wish to lvl once per day by playing 4 hours a day (like me) can easily reach lv153. its no longer an impossibility.


So now, if this doesnt look good enough, if this wont motivate you to reach lv 120, then maybe magician class isnt for you.


PARTY?

well, after i tried to analyze all the vids, i could only home into 2 good characters for us bishops to part y.

1st = Bishops and willing arcmages

seems that only bishops are capable and willing to spam Genesis as a frequent skill. both the other mages are ussualy using medusa and chain lightning to lvl. This means to benefit from HS, we need to party one with equal firepower. thats another bishops, or willing arcmages.

2nd = Dark Knights (not the other 2 please)

the reasoning behind Drk's are quite easy. they increase survivability, and they reduce elixir usage by (3/8). their killing rate also isnt something to scoff at, since they probably can 2hit / 3hit as long as they have berserk on.
however, replacing them with HB mules are also a good idea.



of course, for the conventional bishops who are willing to party HS like before, so be it. IMO, its a waste of potential, and its best left to the rest of the lv75~lv119 priest population. im sure most parties will be more then happy to party with a lower lvl'd priest, compared to a godly bishop.


SO AP's into MP/HP anyone?

since the barrier to one-hit skelegons are reallllly high(approximately 1300 Ma, lv30genesis to 50% oHko), its a possibility to put in AP's into MP/HP for more survivability, and reduce pot usage.

at lv 20 genesis (570 base), 892MA is needed to 100% 2hko.
at lv 30 genesis (670 base), 854MA is needed to 100% 2hko.

remember maplehero, so u need 10% less actually.

so if this seems to be the case, at 770ma, 100% 2hko is actually possible and this is average eq at lvl120. s if u keep adding AP into MP or hp by then, u will either have

lv 150
+1500 HP
OR
+12000 MP

how heavy is this? well, u will prolly have 3000hp and 11000mp OR 1500hp and 25000mp at lv150.

25kMP means 40kMP with Hb, and an elixir will enable 5/6 more genesis's. talk about cheap.



A Godsend to hackers?

well, i heard GMs are full of hackers, so it might be fun to calculate how much a hacker could get, since they will always get 15 hits with their Genesis's , if he hacked using Genesis. well, the 2 main spots will be 1 hitKO Grims, or 2 hitKO Skelegons.

so lets go

2Hko SKelegons
12 (number of 5 seconds in a minute) x 60 (number of minutes in an hour) x 15 (skels hit) x 5000 (exp per kill) x 1.5 (Holysymbol , party hackers?) x 2 (2x exp)

= 162000000 exp/hr


1hKO Grims

24 (number of 2.4 seconds in a minute) x 60 (number of minutes in an hour) x 15 (grims hit) x 2800 (exp per kill) x 1.5 (Holysymbol , party hackers?) x 2 (2x exp)

=181440000 exp/hr

Yeah... looking at the cast time there, it should be fairly obvious that Bishops aren't that broken. It's a trade off-- good damage for crazy MP pot cost*. Other classes get good damage too, but they won't have to use an elixir every time they attack.

No way in hell I could ever afford to spend that much on 1 hour of grinding. And that's presumably not even taking into account taking bump damage, which I will take a lot of, due to the nature of priest fighting and my difficulty in getting into a completely different style of fighting.

Um you are comparing it per hour. Compare it per experience. >_>

And you use NOTHING right now. You have no pot costs other than boss fights. So no, it's not balanced. Level 3x-120 no pots other than bosses saves you a ton. 600+ elixirs per hour of INSANE experience? That's NOTHING. That's little compared to cost / experience. A lot less than others... Not to mention how many you'll be killing in that time with monster pieces, mesos, and drops... You'll make nearly all/all of it back in pieces + mesos alone.

Chris, don't take into account normal priest fighting. What priests do is sit in the safe spots partied with another priest, and between the two of them they can hit the entire map. They kill constantly for a little while and then run out and snatch the drops so they don't go broke. It's nothing like the usual way of priest fighting. xD

And really, by the time you're 130 you really oughta have PLENTY of money to waste on massive exp. Good thing for me is I'll be taking hardly any damage in 4th job. Ice-based summon = freeze 3 enemies for a decent length of time, Paralyze = FIFTEEN SECOND paralysis (meaning I can paralyze, back up, paralyze, repeat until a line of them are stopped and then take **** out). Even at skelegons when I'm running around misting (btw, 2k poison damage ftw) I'll be freezing/paralyzing them constantly and taking hardly any damage. Plus I won't be limited to just skelegons, and after I have ice golem + paralyze maxed I won't care too much about leveling, so I'll get tons of money and have godly equips, so when I DO go to skelegons I'll do pimp nasty damage.

FP is still vastly underpowered in 4th job, though. Ridiculously overpowered in 3rd, though, so it barely kinda balances sort of. =\

PS: That pic of valrog hitting them with Keen Dagger from the safe ledge = lol. Also, the whole anti-American thing is part of why I have けけ in my name, so people might think I'm Japanese. >___>

Haha even when I was in Japan, they could still tell I was American. They respected me though since I spoke relatively well and I made an effort to learn about their culture/my culture. Japanese people have a way of making you feel stupid, but still being polite all the same. I can't read what he wrote to you because I'm extremely retarded when it comes to Kanji, but I'm sure he was just mad that there were so many American players and he just vented a bit. I picked out a few characters here and there but not enough to get the full meaning.

I should start studying Japanese again. But I'm doing Spanish at the moment and I don't want to get the languages confused.. When I came back from japan, I was confusing Spanish and Japanese so badly so I pretty much failed first quarter spanish hahaha. Last year of spanish though so I'll learn how to read and write over the summer. I'm sure JMS will help with that too =]

But the thing is, I'm not fluent. I can't think in Japanese or Spanish, so I have to quickly translate it from English. And when I translate it wrong... well there's the problem.

I can't think in Japanese really because.. I don't know how to read or write so I just think of everything in romanji. Which is pretty much the same thing as translating it from English? I dunno how my brain works but I would end up mixing up things.

From what I've heard from my sister, pap got retarded. The bombs explode on you if they get near you so she said hardly anybody does pap anymore. That's just what I've heard.

Top bombs = normal. 10k+ destroys them. 5000-9999 makes them explode (not sure how much).

Bottom bombs = auto-aggro + power-up. This is the same as before. Except now the power-up does something: it causes them to auto-denonate and not die from it. While in this powered-up state, if you do 8k+ to them, they will die but always explode. A priest can dispel them, but they power-up again after 5 seconds. While out of the powered-up state, you can safely 10k+ them.

Saved money? I don't know about you, but between level 30 and 100 of using very little pots, I've gained less money than others. Clerics and priests don't MAKE good money, they SAVE. My income is low because nothing a priest fights is any good in terms of drops. Hell, they even made Thanatos and Grims worthless as far as drops are concerned. I mean... do you know what it's like to hear everyone talking about finding steelies and ilbis and **** and to have never found a drop worth more than a few mil?

And yeah, from 30-100 I have made a lot of money in total, but I've spent it. Upgrading my equips over the past 70 levels has been more important than stocking up thousands of elixirs so that I can grind in 4th job. Obviously, I have less new equips to get, but now I'm trying to get my **** scrolled finally, something that most others have done by now.

Anyway, I wasn't aware that there were such good sniping spots that I'd take very little damage. I might be able to do it if that's the case, although I'm not so sure that I'd be able to fund the massive pot use on just money and etc drops alone. I might actually have to go out of my way and clear my mules' equips out...
