    I would max Magic Claw before you max out Magic Guard becuase you will need more MP for Magic Guard. Plus, your damage for Magic Claw will skyrocket like crazy. Before, when I had Magic Claw at level 10, it did between 40-70 damage. But when at level 20, it does like 140-170. Save up and dump all of your Skill Points into Magic Claw to conserve pots. btw, where are stirges and what do they look like? Also, I found a thief hat while training on horned mushrooms called a blue pilfer. It is a level 40 hat, and I wanted to know how much they were worth.

      Ignore the Iron Hog and hope some high-level person wants free fame that day for killing it and impressing all the noobs.

      You can kill those things with moderate success at level 28. You will lose all of your mana in the process, however.

      Damage first, aide second. Damage first, aide SECOND.

      Magic Guard is totally useless in the first job. Get it LAST. Recovery is useful, but Claw is more important.

      Would you max Meditation first, then your new attack in the 2nd job? People have done this and they completely regret it. Meditation adds like 150-200 max attack. That means like 75-100 more maximum damage per Claw. Which is sad, considering you'll be going from doing 250/250 to 350/350 when you can be pulling 1,000s on enemies weak to your element (Fire or Ice, of course. Not Lit or Poison) without Meditation.

        No what, MG should be last as it is only supportive type.

        What I max out first is Max MP Increase (duh), then I maxed out MP recover (I maxed claw abit the late) Then 1 to bolt, claw to 10, saved for 3 levels and then added claw to 19 (too pissed off to wait for that last damn SP) Maxed out claw, then maxed out Magic guard. Ya. (:

          Uhh, you people take weird paths.

          Put 1 in Energy Bolt.
          Put 5 in MP Regen.
          Max out Max MP.
          Max Claw.
          Max MP Guard.
          Max Regen.

          I MP Guard first because I found it more useful than a few extra MP Points, considering I was a potion whore.

            Started a new mage in MapleSEA. Level 8 already... And I placed the first SP into MP Recovery -_-" Cuz I wanted really really perfect stats as this is the first perfect stat mage I ever had -_-"

            Now training on green snails (LOL) Reckon I'm doomed to camp there for like, 5 more levels before my Max MP Increase is maxed out :'(

            Now I realised I don't need a wooden wand, but abit the too late already

              I'm so confused. So you guys are telling me to now finish maxing out Magic Claw (Which is only 10), then go Max out MP recovery (Which only needs 3 more SPs to do), then go do Magic Guard?

                  Don't do magic guard first unless you're rich. Which you aren't.

                  Do MP Recovery. Magic Guard is useless unless you can afford a ton of mp pots.

                      Nah, I think Squeek is right this time. There is no use for Magic Guard in the 2xs, you're not fighting powerful monsters yet.

                        Alright. People. Aspiring Magicians. Do it like this:

                        Level 8: 1 point into Energy Bolt. So you can use Magic.

                        Level 9: 3 points into MP Recovery. So you can get points into Max MP Increase ASAP.

                        Level 10: 2 points into MP Recovery, 1 point into Max MP Increase.

                        Level 11-13: 3 into Max MP Increase. Should be maxed by 13.

                        Level 14-16: 3 points into Magic Claw.

                        Level 17: 1 point into Magic Claw (Should be at 10), 1 point into Magic Recovery, save 1 point. Why? At level 11, the cost for Magic Claw doubles. If you put Claw at 12, you will be getting 20% more power at 100% of the magic cost. No thanks. As for the point into Recovery, you will be saving points for Magic Claw for a few levels, and you get one extra point right now. Put it in Recovery. Will save time, potions, and hassle.

                        Level 18-19: Save points for reason mentioned above. You want 100% more power if you're paying 100% more MP.

                        Level 20: 10 points into Claw. Cost is doubled, but so is power.

                        After this, things are easy. First max Recovery, then max Magic Guard. No points into Magic Armor, because Magicians want to focus on not taking damage as opposed to taking less damage.

                        As for those other points you get when you level up, this takes some research in advance. Only put points into Luck if you are able to use a new piece of equipment this level that requires you to have a certain amount of luck. Otherwise, put points into Intelligence - it's more power/MP/magick defense earlier, which is a good thing.

                        Got it? Good.

                          I find that funny because My skills at the Moment are this:

                          Max MP Increase: Maxed

                          Max MP Recovery: 13

                          Magic Guard: 0

                          Magic Armor: 0

                          Energy Bolt: 1

                          Magic Claw: 10

                          Like it or not, I'm going to max MP Recovery as soon as I turn Level 20 which will about 5 minutes from now. Expect details.

                            No. Anybody who maxes guard before claw is an idiot. That means you'll be stuck using bolt until early to mid 20s, which sucks.

                            I would max claw before recovery and guard, because it's faster leveling, and magic guard isn't really vital for survival when your fighting horned mushes >.>

                            PPS ~I'm level 46 and a half now.. it's really getting boring to level. Especially since fire boars only give me .01 exp

                              Nonono. For max power, you only put points into luck when you need them for new equipment. Otherwise, everything goes into Intelligence.

                                Complicated? Slightly. Beneficial? Of course!

                                At 46 I had 2,745 MP. I bet you're floating around 2,700 if you're doing 4 int / 1 luk every level.

                                If you keep doing it, the difference in our MP will grow and grow. THAT is why I told you all to do this.

                                I guarantee that without MP-adding devices, you will NOT break 3,000 MP at level 50. And I had 3,006.

                                50 more than I had in Beta, all because I played my Int properly this time around. I was an idiot in Beta and wore Luk clothes. Blue Devil's Robe (Chaos Robe now), Dark Guiltian, etc. (Starlights were not available in a shop. We couldn't go to Ossyria. They cost like 1.5 million for an Int Starlight. More for Dark).

                                So, from now on, 5/0 until you want new stuff. And I highly advise against the level 50 stuff as it is ugly and worthless... and expensive.
