Keep at slimes till level 19ish. Then move to pigs. Minimal experience is something you should accomidate to because if you think that leveling to 18 is slow wait till you try to get from levels 69 to70.

If you are a mage like me, I was killing them at level 16. As long as you keep your distance, you will be fine. It should take around 2-3 magic claws to kill one, and that is 35 exp. So, you end up coming up ahead. However, pigs regenerate faster, so its your choice.

Oh damnit. I think I just ruined my character. I was messing around throwing stars, and I remembered that I needed to use my skill point, and I went to put it in Lucky 7, and accidently put it in double stab.
I should probably restart it now, huh? =\

I think you have enough points in the first job to simply take one away from skills you won't use: Disorder and Dark Sight.
