Any Gradius game on the hardest difficulty
So fun to do, and so fullfilling if you manage to get through it (bonus points if didn't die once).

Re: E3 2014
Pretty hard to mistake super ghouls and ghosts, with ghosts and goblins. Even if that is what he meant to say, have you even played super ghouls and ghosts to make that claim confidently? That game too is recognized as one of the most difficult games EVER.
There sort of is a thing called muscle memory and level layout knowledge where the game is made with the sole intention of you placing yourself exactly where it intends for you to fail. No amount of creativity in someone's mind can predict time and time again without a game over, the countless obstacles made for these veryyyy specifically difficult games, to beat first try. It just doesn't work like that. I would know, I'm a distant relative of Lucas from disneys "the wizard"Comment

Re: E3 2014
I've beaten Super Ghouls and Ghosts on professional, yea.
Super Ghouls and Ghosts also has the option to bump your lives up to 9 and a difficulty slider (but iirc playing on less than normal doesn't allow you to play the game with the bracelet after beating the end castle the first time). It's not impossible but it's feasible.
edit: oh, so you didn't actually beat it.Comment

Re: E3 2014
Ok you pretty much just got caught in your lie bud. You HAVE to go thru game twice to beat it, there is no other way. You know how I know? Cuz uh, I've actually beaten that game, and I definitely did not do it on my 30th try, and my skills with old school games are legitimately top of the line. I've sort of got the credentials to back up what I'm saying here, so yeah, good job bubComment

(halo)
it wasn't fun basically lol.
back to the point that was being discussed - the hardcore gamer label
it's w/e. the fact that you're familiar with gng and all of that gives i think, much of the population the need to smack that label onto you; even at like, my high school, i was one of the handful out of the graduating class that could tell you SNES or NES titles (NES not so much for me but w/e)
edit
why are you getting so butthurt and worked up about that - feel happy that you found an exaggeration, instead of actually trying to respond to the point that i'm making? lolComment

Re: E3 2014
because we're talking about gaming at a very high level. coming in and saying that you beat gng first try kinda discredits your entire post because just saying that you beat one of the hardest commercial games on your first try is complete and utter bullshit lol.(halo)

Re: E3 2014
*shrug*
i'll admit bs when needed. I would like to steer the thread back to a better area though. (it was to try and make a point, but oh well i guess that backfired)
Definitely planning on getting a Wii U at some point in the near summerly futureComment

Re: E3 2014
He's right though, actually beating the game requires two playthroughs. There's nothing elitist about it, you said that you beat the game and then not 10 posts later you told us that you didn't beat the game.Comment

Re: E3 2014
well, it's my fault for saying something that wasn't true.
sorry @ korny/choof/anyone else who's offended that I said that I beat a game when I really didn'tComment
