    Re: Solar Eclipse Pad Pack

Just wait, WAH! This song, my song (if accepted) is going to be on an actual machine O_O. Wow, how did you manage to pull that one off. Oh, and apparently Hotmail is spiting me errors. The link will be through mega upload, okay?

(The link SHOULD be sent through your g-mail shortly.)

      You miss what I mean.

Machines that have the r21 upgrade allow you to play your own songs on a machine via a flashdrive. However, there are like 5000 limitations. This is what I mean

also, I just got done judging professor tush's files, then there are more. wtf? hahaha

Okay, everything should be up to date now. For new reviews (as always), check the third post of this thread.

          Re: Solar Eclipse Pad Pack

Well, I figured that the song wouldn't be accepted as it was my first actual pad song. I will be trying to re-do it for you. Because I NEED to have one song in a pack. And this song is mega-addicting. But, meh. Good luck.

(oh, and how was the banner and background by the way ^_^)

            Banner and background work =)

But yeah, I could tell it was one of your first if not your first pad file. Hey, we all start somewhere right? Like I said, just read over that thread. Should help ya out. Also, slowing down the speed of the actual song and wearing headphones while stepping both also help. Give it a try. Also, please delete all charts that are not the one you are actually submitting.

              Re: Solar Eclipse Pad Pack

I had actually never heard of the 'pad lingo' until now, but I actually have a pad, so I tested it and I ended up falling on my rear. (PS: I DID delete all of the files except heavy. How odd.) Well, now with some new info and a new song I plan to make another vocaloid stepchart better than before. Maybe trance will assist me in this one.. but 6 minutes long. I am going to have to change that.

I was kinda lazy, shut up.

Partial reviews are up. I think I have like 4 or 5 files left to do, plus the ones I need to download in the e-mail.

I'll work on that later tonight.

EDIT: I also want to know which files have 3 judge approvals (i.e. already accepted), so I can start creating doubles charts.

                            -BABY P- APPROVED
#Measures 12, 14 & 16: I think from the 3rd beat you should have just used two triplets rather than gallops. To me it fits the drumline better, and slightly reduces the repetitive nature of this section of the chart.
#Measure 27: I see why you put jacks here, but I personally felt what you stepped it to wasn't prominent enough to justify such a method of accenting.
There was a lot I liked about this file. The song choice is a nice change of pace, gimmicks and rolls are implemented appropriately, and the steps were all around pretty fun, if tricky at times (I think of the 24th trills and hands here, but that's not necessarily a criticism). I'd very much like you to put those triplets in though if you can be bothered. =P

                            -BEAUTIFUL ANGEL- APPROVED
#For me at least, the sync was too early. I needed to hit F11.
#Measures 27, 29, 31 & 33: Every second freeze in these measures imo shouldn't be a freeze. The piano notes are in staccato each time, so I feel holding arrows down is inappropriate.
Much like Daite Senorita, the double steps in this file have been placed pretty much perfectly: it'd feel wrong of my to criticise their use. Overall I would haveliked the file to be a bit jumpier, if only to follow the fact that the piano often plays in octaves and chords. Consequently, it feels a teeny bit understepped. The general quality of the file is very good though, so I'll let that slide.

                            -DEAD END- APPROVED
The only thing that I came close to disliking was the fact the steps were a little repetitive. The nature of the song is to blame for this however, and I like the song anyway. =P In terms of hitting the beats accuratle, I can't fault this. Well done.

                            -End of the World-
Oh gawd I just realised I restepped this yonks back. D= I almost want to try and submit it now, but I probably won't. The three difficulties [U]are wildly different from each other, so I'm going to give general comments for each. Firstly, sync is late. Had to hit F12. Now for the specific difficulties:
                            MEDIUM - REJECTED
Sorry, but I didn't like it. It felt very inconsistent and somewhat inaccurate throughout. I also didn't like your gratuitous use of crab hands, though its good to see you weren't too harsh with them. Still, I don't think very highly of this.
                            HARD - REVISE
#Measure 3: I'd rather you only took the echoing as far as the beginning of the third bar. This probably just me speaking out of a want for tidiness, which even I find unusual.
#Measures 7-8: If I try to alternate my "feet" here, I get mixed up. I suggest holding down right instead of left on the jump if you change nothing else.
#Measures 28-34: I can see what you're following with this, so this is acceptable. I'd rather you used freezes instead of mines though to match with the open hi-hats better.
#Measure 34: You've stepped this slowdown wrong. You've done x--x--x-x--x--x- where, if you were trying to follow the drums here, I think it should have been x-x--x--x---x-x-.
#Measures 54 & 56: Random double steps. Fix these plz.

This is actually my favourite chart of the three, hence why I've said so much on it. This density of arrows feels the most appropriate to me, and your use of freezes make this feel less generic. I'll probably pass this if you make those fixes.
                            EXPERT - REVISE
This isn't too bad actually, though in places it feels a bit overstepped in places. The 16th bursts in measures 21, 23, 25, 29 and 51 are the culprits here. There are also a triplet in the last few bar 51 that feels out of place. But like I said, not to bad. I'd simply like you to sort out those measures.

                            FIRE FIRE - REJECTED
There were many things I didn't like about this. For one, there were many times where you followed the synth where the vocals were MUCH more prominent. For another, there's a good deal of awkward jump placement throughout: Measure 20 is unforgivable I'm afraid, since it abosolutely forces a double step at an unfair tempo unless you shuffle your feet in a weird way. There's a few awkwardly placed arrows too here and there, and overall the patterns didn't seem to flow very well. I'm afraid I'll have to say no to this.

                            -IMPRONTA ~vague3.rm~- UNCERTAIN
This is pretty darn repetitive. Apart from that there's nothing inherently wrong with it really. I'll have to see what the others think.

-Kono spoon, suteki desu ne- APPROVED
I liked everything but the 640BPM speed ups, despite the fact the fit the music well. They force me to play this at x2, but even then they throw me off. =( That's pretty much my only complaint though.

-Lose Control (StoneBridge Radio Mix)- APPROVED
I've already played this, and I can easily say this is one of the best files you've ever made, Raine. I'd definitely like to see this file in the pack. Strangely though, the sync is very late. I had to hit F12 TWICE. D= Also, the movie freezes up my stepmania. I have no idea why.

                            -Love is War- REJECTED
This was a very strange file. For some reason, the edit chart (which I assume is your main file) has been cloned multiple times. Save for jumps and part of the 8th jumpstream near the middle, the left arrow was completely ignored. The file very rarely seemed to follow the music and virtually all the patterns were mind bogglingly odd/awkward/boring. You also picked a really weird place to end the chart. The time changes also felt very unnecessary. I'm sorry to say, but this file really isn't good at all. Not even the syncing saves it.

-Marisa Stole the Precious Thing- APPROVED
And GD thought Destinstion was overstepped. XDXDXDXD Otherwise, this is ok. It's definitely quite unique compared to other files I've seen of it. If anything, I felt the chorus was quite understepped up until measure 60, otherwise this is fine.

                            -Owl Castle- REVISE
I reckon this is a near pass. I quite like the song, and the steps aren't bad: the patterns just aren't that interesting though. That's what's irking me a little. It drifts a little in what it follows but I suppose that's acceptable. I also spotted a double step in bar 20, and the sync is late (had to hit F12 once). Those last two things are easy to fix though. Just work on it a little more, I think.

                            -Sogo Kigyo Shugotai Tenpa- APPROVED
Quite good imo. There's a double step in bar 18 though, but that can easily be patched up. Overall, you follow the music well and in doing so come up with a chart with many interesting rhythms.

-The Bridge People No Longer Cross- REVISE
There's a bit of accidental double stepping here and there (mainly the second half), and overall it felt a bit repetitive. The patterns are largely very one directional for no particular reason, and the arrow placement don't seem to fit all that well around the second half. The sync is also off: I shifted it by 0.025 seconds earlier. It's not awful by any means, but I think it needs work.

                            ----------

@Halogen: I can't really dispute why you feel that way about my Destination file. I intentionally made it easier than Renard's, since I was aiming more for accuracy than for difficulty. I do like Renard's chart for this, and I download his files on a regular basis cuz I tend to liek dem, but half the time I find myself restepping them; sometimes partial touchups, sometimes full reworks. It's become a bad habit. XD

To be honest, I was already thinking about redoubling the BPM, after listening to the song a few more times, and finding out the actual music was originally written at 400. Can't be bothered to sort that out tonight though. Judging hurts brain lol
