Word is that the PS3 and Xbox360 versions are out today. I own neither console, so no chance for me.

Unless I want to spend like 500-600$ just to do it. And believe me, I'm seriously considering it. Really, the PS2 one seems like the illegimate sibling here, and I don't know if I want to drop so much money for a single game that might not be up to snuff due to being produced by an outside source (I always hated how ****ty Tony Hawk 3 for the old Playstation turned out thanks to Shaba, even though Neversoft's PS2 version was amazing). As if this all wasn't enough, none of my friends are into music games (too busy playing WoW or worrying about getting laid constantly ugh), so I'd be almost totally reliant on online play to make full use of the band nature of it. Oh yeah and the fact that the PS2 version doesn't even come out until next month. In addition, my PS2's USB ports have never worked properly, something I noticed when I got Eyetoy the Christmas after it came out; naturally, this was after its warranty had been voided.

And really, I don't want to wait for them to release a left behind mid-quel for the Wii. I can't stand that **** anyway where a game will come out, then in between sequels, they'll release an advanced version of the most recent one for another platform. It killed me when THPS2x on Xbox turned out to be so freaking fully stuffed with everything I could possibly want, only to find that the content that Xbox owners got a chance to love would never be making it over to the land of Playstation, the franchise's then defacto home. And yeah, a Wii version would probably be better in some way, but I don't want to wait a freaking year for it.

Also, how is there not a thread about this yet?

ps I'll be going out in a bit... I think I might pick up a 360 or the cheapest PS3 available just for this... god what is wrong with me... I have a quick question if anyone knows: PS3 and Xbox360: compatible with wifi?

I thought it comes out at November 25. And I think they both are compatible with Wi-Fi.

360 sells a WiFi adapter, no idea about the PS3.

Can't wait to pick this up. It's next on the list of November games to get.

I have Rock Band. It is beyond fun. The drums, though they take awhile to get used to, are pretty fun and make you feel good about yourself. The bass and lead guitar are the same to GH. The singing...its a give and take. you get all four going at once, though, its amazing....in some crazy nerdy way. Been playing it since 12:01 AM CT

I played some of the demo, the Drum Charts are really frickin' easy. Hoping it gets harder.

Dude get a 360, you can get more games for it and it's cheaper.

I wanted the drums to be a challenge on expert...

i played the demo and wasn't impressed with the difficulty on hard....

Were you using the bass pedal or just slamming on the drums? The bass pedal adds quite a bit of difficulty.

Maybe it's just you. I know several drummers IRL that absolutely suck with the drums. Guess your just special.

This game rules so hard. Guitar is awesome, though I'm terrible at switching between the two sets of fret buttons. It'd be nice if there was an indicator before the solo started. I didn't play bass at all, but I assume it's pretty standard. My friend was having a blast playing it over his head, like a violin with one of the drumsticks, and other assorted ways. The drums are about as good as it's going to get with affordable-sized pads. It gets pretty tough pretty fast, though it's kind of a cinch in comparison with DrumMania right now. Singing is fun as HELL. It's tough when you don't know the song and can't hear the actual vocalist because someone is banging on the drums and stuff, but you can pick up pretty quickly. I'd advise playing it on Medium, though, because the only thing the harder difficulties do is restrict the fun of it.

Awesome, awesome game thus far. It is a little annoying having to play the same song multiple times to unlock more stages and such, but with people to switch off instruments with you, it remains extremely fun. I still can't play it unless someone brings over a 360, and I'd still rather play GH3 if I was by myself (aside from playing through the game once with drums maybe), but if there's at least two people around, it tops GH3 easily. Absolutely amazing. The helix pattern that the hold notes make when you use the whammy bar looks really nice. I really don't know much of anything about the shop, but the character customization is pretty sweet. ahhhhhhh it's awesome buy it
