I've heard of people rigging it up with some string and a ceiling fan. You could be creative and find some other ceiling-based rig to fit your setup.

That sounds rather unpleasant to the functionality/appearance of my room as a whole. I meant something like this:

Just bend the wire hanger so it'll go around my neck and hold the mic for me.

I had my sister hold the mic for me.

          Re: RockBand. More Awesome.

I used a headset. I played Here It Goes Again, with singing on hard and drums on expert. I really only get wrecked by the singing, with has barely noticeable pitch changes during some parts of the real song that, of course, you have to take EXTREMELY literally in the game. Knowing the words or anything but the chorus probably would've helped, but still, the singing on it is just annoying. I could probably do most of the tier 1-4 (drums world tour) stuff on drums and sing pretty well, as long as the singing part isn't too hard. I just don't find it to be nearly as fun as playing guitar and singing.

I played Enter Sandman on hard on both guitar and singing, and that was really, really fun. The funny part is that I had to look at the words for the song more than I did for the guitar notechart.

I wish I could play this game >=(

I probably said it before, but all of my friends suck at singing and I actually enjoy it, so I'm hoping it's actually fun. I'd get SingStar, except SingStar sucks. Except for that one. That one I'm not willing to pay $40 to have.

Also, I don't see what'd be hard about singing and playing drums. If it's a song you know (AKA listened to it twice or more), you should be able to sing and do ANYTHING. Heck, I sing and finger-drum while I drive.

Won't get to play until some time around the winter break. Only one guy in my group of friends has it and he's a friend of a friend so I can't just go over there. You know how it--

HOLY CRAP THIS GAME HAS SOUNDGARDEN? EPIC. CAN'T WAIT TO SING IT.

God I love Soundgarden. First band I ever bought a CD from. One of the only CDs I bought, even.

Haha, it has Run to the Hills too? Awesome.

In case you couldn't tell, I never looked up a song list for this game.

You may not see what'd be hard, but I sure do. I sang in choirs for years, so I'm no stranger to that, and I played the drums on expert on the demo (I know I'd get ruined by that foot pedal, though, until I got to play it a lot), but doing those things together is NOT easy for me. I try finger drumming while singing in the car, but one of them quickly diverts my attention from the other.

                I was in choir too.

That's why I really can't see the difficulty. In choir, I could sing while fixing the sound system. Juuust fine.

And since I was the only person with technical know-how back in the day, this was frequent.

'course, I only did choir because I was in a catholic school and the choir sat up in the balcony, not down in the pews on the floor.

I mean, it can't be too hard. Almost every band I know has a lead singer who also plays an instrument. Sometimes two or three. Granted, it's usually not drums, but it can be.

Anyway, I found the Stepmania of SingStar so I'm gonna go enjoy that.

The difference between singing while playing drums and playing any other instrument is that drums is a matter of managing multiple rhythms at the same time. The main reason most people can finger drum fine but can't keep rhythm on a drumset is the main reason most drummers can't sing while drumming - it's introducing more rhythms than they're used to. Drummers have learned how to use all four limbs simultaneously without hesitation, but most people focus too much on either feet or hands first time on a drumset and as a result their playing becomes sounds really sloppy, especially since it takes precision to play.

It's the same thing for drummers. Introducing a fifth element of rhythm (well, fourth for Rock Band) that isn't physical and also requires pitch accuracy takes a ridiculous amount of coordination. It takes years to do it well enough for live performances.

You also have to know all of the lyrics and all of the little pitch changes throughout the song, or you have to try to guess drum patterns and look at the top of the screen for some parts. If you throw everything on expert, and play something other than one of the REALLY EASY songs, it'll be very hard.

im getting pretty good at singing now get around 95%s on hards, and 80+ on expert. still suck at guitar compared to people at gh on expert, i usually get mid 80's or low 90's on most experts on guitar, drums i can get around 85-90 on hard and 70+ on expert. havent really played it much but im actually liking singing the best just because its a change up from everything else.

I heard a very ugly rumour about Rock Band's Canada delay today.

Supposedly the main reason it was delayed in Canada was due to a Canadian law that the government has decided to impose on the game. This law says that 30% of controlled music in Canada must have some sort of Canadian content in it - whether a Canadian producer, player, or whatever.

This could mean they're going to remove tracks until they meet the guideline, or it could mean they're going to add more. Probably the former. I hope it's a false rumour.
