Re: "Veteran" Status Discussion
I don't think being Veteran should require a long amount of time (since then it becomes impractical for any new player to get, no matter how dedicated or skilled they are about the game), or a high level of gameplay skill (since then some people will never be able to get the requirement, because they don't have that level of physical speed due to various factors).
Also, we shouldn't be thinking about veteran status as some kind of exclusive privilege that only a handful of people should be getting. It should be a global thing available to anyone who's put a lot of time and effort into this game and/or this community. Like the old subscriber idea, the concept isn't to have an elitist club, but rather to mark who's serious about the game and who's just a casual player. So things like 75% TP, 5k posts, etc. ask a lot more than we should be asking.Best AAA: Policy In The Sky [Oni] (81)

Re: "Veteran" Status Discussion
I agree with this. We don't have to have insanely high requirements for it, because then it will be exclusive to literally the top ~50 people of FFR, and that isn't fair.

Re: "Veteran" Status Discussion
Problem with this is that some random SM god could come out of nowhere and get veteran within a day of being a member on FFR.We can add gaming skill factors for veteran status, but parameters like AAAs/FCs/TP aren't very useful as long as new songs are added to the game. Needless to say, averank isn't available either.
Possible method I can think of..
- Pick like 10-20 req songs from ingame ones (preferably from older songs)
- Set veteran reqs on these songs (can set req on every songs like skill tokens, or make a point system like TP system)
- If an user meets the vereran req, veteran status will be given.

Re: "Veteran" Status Discussion
75% TP seems steep.
I would like to consider myself a vet, but i only have 7.2bil GT :/
Ive only gotten active on the forums recently, but what about just a required AAA amount.
Thats an Semi-Accurate number to gauge someones skill.
I would say around 300 is not an unreachable number.
I have 266 and have not put tons of time into it, but for a "casual" player to get more then 300 seems high.
And as for the "Forum Vet." status. I dont know if there is a "non-whoreable" way to make a req. for obtaining this title.
We could make a system for telling the admins when someone goes above the norm to help and they would get lets say 1 point for it. It would require picture proof, and after so many "points" you could be up for vote to obtain the status. The current admins in place seem level headed enough to make accurate decisions. This may seem as over thinking "Just a title" but thats the only way i can think of so people wont abuse the forums to obtain it.
And 10bil GT seems like a good number for the game vet. status as well.
What about multiple leveled titles.
Game Vet: Reached X amount of points
Game Elite: Reached X amount of points + X amount of AAA/FC's
Game Guru: Reached X amount of points + X amount of AAA/FC's + X% of TP
This may also be over thinking it for just a "Game Title" but it would help in the process of giving out bonus's. We could have each rank have bonus's that would help in the process of the skill of the player (what those bonus's would be. I have no idea).
This is an incomplete thought.
Sorry if this post is just nonsence.
Still just Smashing away

Re: "Veteran" Status Discussion
It feels like the people who actually whine about the req don't play the game nearly as much as people who aren't whining.
Just to clear this up:
The only BENEFITS for the forums seems to be the Veteran Board, a Blue Name, and a User Title. The rest are just Game Features like Average Rank Leader stat board, beta level stats, etc.
Plus, the time you guys are taking to whine about a game can be put into real life tasks, or playing the game for yourselves to make yourself actually go into the direction of achieving veteran status.
It's sad tbh.

Re: "Veteran" Status Discussion
I must be one of few that is seeing no problem with the current requirements.
Imo, anyone who has more than 3 year member length, should have easily been able to attain 3 billion points in their time here. I see the 3year/3bill as a fairly well-rounded system. People who've been here for 7 years that haven't managed to get 3 billion points (which isn't a,lot when you think about it), aren't so much veterans of the game as they are veterans of 'clicking the sign-up button and waiting'.

Make everyone a Vet and give User status to those that complain anymore.

Re: "Veteran" Status Discussion
Not to argue but wouldn't it be a good thing to have more players playing ffr even if they are from sm and even if they are only doing it for vet status?Comment

Re: "Veteran" Status Discussion
My only complaint about current requirements is the ~time~. But I'm not one of the people who has 300mil points after 7 years... I had about 28bil before I even hit 3 years. I was counting down the days for 3 months before I got Vet, and eventually bugged Velocity so much about it I was given Vet a day early, oops (my profile said I was 3 years old dammit, I wanted Vet xD),
Plus... I've also been a member of FFR for far longer than this profile is old.
See:
http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/profile/litedancer (5.65 years old as of this post, gay name, and AvMiss was still around when I made that account, so I didn't play much and I ditched the account when I came back after avmiss was fixed)
http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...e/Brian%20iPwn (3.51 years old as of this post. I *ACCIDENTALLY STARTED* cheating, but continued to abuse that method of cheating [was on a horrible computer that was falling apart practically and if I played FFR long enough, or left the computer on too long without rebooting, FFR would lag... It was a smooth lag that resulted in arrow slow down, oops] account was blacklisted, and I moved on to -zeroSKILL-. I like my current username, and have been 100% legit on this account)
The only thing I see wrong with a concrete period of time a person must be a member is that it has no meaning whatsoever in how much experience they have. And though some people argue being a Veteran *is* the amount of time you "served" or whatever else... that's bullshit. You can't measure how long someone has "served" as an FFR player by how long ago they made their account. They are not forced to log in every day, or even check back on the site ever again after making their account.
Veteran status imo should be limited strictly to GTS. GTS does show how long you've sat in front of your computer dedicated to this website. Gaining GTS is not an idle process like racking up member length is.
I suggest a requirement of maybe 3 months member, and something like 5-10bil GTS for FFR Veteran.
This is a gaming website. If you came here to become a Flash Flash Revolution Veteran and want to whine about how you aren't one because you post a lot and have been a member for 20 years...

Go play some FFR and rack up GTS to gain Veteran status. If the Forum people want Vet status too, I say hand out a title like "FFR Community Veteran" to the postwhores who have 5k+ posts or something. You either care about a title like that or you don't. I really doubt someone would try and postwhore their way to 5k posts just for a title. And if they did, I'd have to say bravo, they earned it, as long as they weren't flaming, trolling, double posting (or worse), or posting stupid one liners at any post they got a chance to like a lot of FFya members do/did.
Well, there's my 2 cents. Keep the change~All public 1-7's AAA'd.
15 8's left to AAA
Average Rank: 152

jeeze what is up with all of the hate towards FFYa around here? What, are you basing your entire knowledge of FFYa off of Lito or something?Originally posted by Jewpinthethird"Hey Keywii" Said Foil in a raspy voice.
"Hey Foil. What's that you got there?" inquired Keywii.
"Oh, just my cock." Replied Foil.
"That just will not do." was keywii's response as she lunged for the scissors, pulled the blades apart, and clamped them down on the base of foil's shaft. Blood start gushing out of the wound where his penis used to be.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Yelled Foil in horror.
"Don't worry. I'm a wizard" uttered Keywii. And with that, Foil's penis grew back.Comment

Re: "Veteran" Status Discussion
Just saying rhythm game veteran # FFR veteran. A 1 day old member shouldn't be allowed a veteran title.
