No, just that *certain* artists (e.g. Flashbulb) request that FFR stay nonprofit.
I'm sure they would understand if it was the lack of money holding the site back.. (though I may be wrong with this)

We've acquired artist permissions on the basis that we are a non-profit website, so if that change, we would have to ask again every artists if they are alright with that. I presume we would lose many permissions in the process and end up with far more complicated limited cases. Also, some artists are unreachable or disbanded (about 25% from the list).

Well the main problem to me is the fact that since FFR is non-profit, we don't exactly have nearly as much money as some of the popular computer games, and barely any exposure whatsoever.


Something else I wish the staff could do is post some front page stories encouraging those who don't go on the forums to give it a shot so they can become a more active member of the community.


Also if someone mildly popular on YouTube and/or Twitch played this game, maybe it would help spread this game around to many other people.


Plus just another tidbit of information: I know someone who played FFR back before the site went down in 2009 and he thought the site was still down 5-6 years later, so a lot of people from back then might not even realize the site still exists.
