1-13 Difficulty Titles

Who wants to bring them back? In conjunction with 1-99 sub-ratings, just replacing the 1-20 titles (Brutal, etc.) with what we used to have.

Something along the lines of:

1 = Easiest
2-3 = Beginner
4-6 = Very Easy
7-10 = Easy
11-17 = Standard
18-26 = Tricky
27-35 = Difficult
36-45 = Very Difficult
46-55 = Challenging
56-65 = Very Challenging
66-78 = For Masters Only
79-91 = For Gurus Only
92+ = let's replace FSO with something better pls

(sidenote: old Standard to VD ranges are not accurately reflected in the ranges posted here. Some movement around the borders of these ranges will need to be done since as it's currently set up, VD is 35-45, which is a larger range than the next two successive 1-13 levels...and I don't like that)

Feel free to suggest different titles for the first four levels in 1-13 as well. But I don't think Standard - FGO are gonna change.

i don't think either of those really conveys it well. feels to me like something that would come between fmo and fgo.

also I feel like 90+ should be a separate category from FGO. i know the old FGOs included 90-91 but i'd rather see 79-89 as FGO and 90+ as FSO or whatever the new name would be

i just feel like the old FGO difficulty included way too wide a range of files: high FGOs were so so much different than low FGOs, whereas with FMOs and especially VCs everything was a lot closer

I wouldn't mind pulling Schmollbluk/J'ai and upwards into 13 territory (Stinger and Slashmaid should probably be bumped down in that case though)

90+ as 13 looks nicer as well...I'd just hate that FMO would encompass a larger range than FGO in that scenario

edit: alternatively, FMO could end at 76 or 77 instead hmmm........but then that screws up Oni and Scarhand

this is true, but i feel that even though FMO would be a wider range numerically, the actual difficulty range isnt as wide as the FGO difficulty range

the other option would be to make the low FMOs VCs, but this is clearly a bad idea for several reasons

Wait, is the 1-99 scale getting scrapped? Or are we just standardizing what defines a difficulty range?

one of those reasons being that modifying the ranges in the middle is a total nightmare for reasons such as that, and a few achievements losing their significance: "i AAAd my first FGO, but its not the same as what all the other people had to do"

its a lot easier to modify the stuff right at the top: the upper range of FGO and FSO which was already kind of a loose term

If we'd have to keep with some kind of gradation in the higher tiers of the scale, I'd suggest: "For Deities Only". I mean, since the community commonly calls it "godtier", I feel that would stick just fine.

Exactly haha, I never really considered the difficulties as anything except what they were before
