1 = Easiest
2-3 = Beginner
4-6 = Mild
7-10 = Light
11-17 = Moderate
18-26 = Tricky

I mainly see these difficulty names being used, so I think the ones easier than these can use different titles. Especially titles like "standard".
27-35 = Difficult
36-45 = Very Difficult
46-55 = Challenging
56-65 = Very Challenging
66-78 = Master (or For Masters Only)
79-90 = Guru (or For Gurus Only)
91+ = Revolutionary (or For Revolutionaries Only)

I like "Brutal" myself for the 13s. And we can call any 99s "Very Brutal" if we want

Honestly, few people really used the 1-20 system, and it's kinda pointless when everyone knows the 1-13 and when 1-99 is also in place. People aren't gonna stop talking about VC/FMO/FGOs (I certainly won't) so why have three systems when we could have two?

i'm up fo rthis. FMO & FGO are here to stay. FSO is a dumb name.
now there are some 77s that are FMOs. I'd say we still put 79 (78?) & higher as FGO, but we all know which 77s & 78s were FGOs before. And those should still stay that way. So either officially mark them as FGO in engine (maybe coding a few exceptions), or leaving them w/ the FMO label, but we'll all just know that those were originally FGO

if we're gonna name the 13s differently, it needs to be a good abbreviationg. FLO... idk what i think. FMO, FGO just works, not sure what to make th eother one

and yeah idk any of the 1-20 names :P VC/FMO/FGO are still used all the time!

I agree with dropping the For Blank Only stuff. It makes the difficulty sound like only an exclusive amount of people are allowed to play said file. I also agree with what one of the other people said about making difficulty 13 called Brutal because it sounds good for a name and I couldn't really think of any good names myself.

For Revolutionaries Only or even Revolutionary is silly, it's a stepfile, not Ho Chi Minh or the invention of the telephone or something

"Legends" makes sense - it IS cheesy, but no more than Masters anyway. The word itself is a typical video-game-type marker for something ultimate or at the highest level of its class anyway, which in this case would of course refer to the difficulty.

Just so you know, D7 players ARE Legends. They are the top players and all of them have earned the right to be called Legends since the scores they have on files are incredible and are an example that good work and dedication pays off. So yes, they are Legends.

For Legends Only <--- Definitely agree with this name.

EDIT: Also, in regard to "dropping the For blank only" I am heavily against this. The name of the difficulties have been in place since before most of you even knew what FFR was. There were put in at the start of the entire site. It is something I feel shouldn't be touched. Why complain about it now? Lol. Just focus on the difficulties and the names of the hard ranged above FGO.

I'm sure those who made the charts in the higher difficulties didn't intend that D1 players would enjoy them. I don't really have an issue with the for___only stuff. I've always read it as, "this thing's frickin hard, you've been warned". From my original mashings of Silence, I never took the difficulty title as elitist. Even if it officially gets dropped, people will still call them by their fgo/fmo acronyms.

I like dossar's recommendations on the first 6 difficulties. I never liked "standard" as a difficulty. I'm not sure if standard was a difficulty in the 1-20 system, I never used it.

And Brutal for a 13 is fine by me. FLO not so much, I don't want to think of progressive insurance every time I read it.
