Combo Scoring Discussion

So instead of bogging down the suggestions thread, how about you vote here, and we can have the major discussion I think that the site needs about Raw vs Combo scoring.

For those who are unaware, the discussion is whether FFR level ranks should stay based on the combo score (where a FC is worth the most), or should change to using Raw score (where misses count -10, perfects 50, etc...)

I voted raw score for rankings.
Thinking about it, combo scoring should be used for Grandtotal only.

If the general consensus is that people favor raw scoring over combo scoring, it is very possible the admins will consider changing it.

Never really know until everyone voices their opinion on the matter.

Raw scoring definetly.
I'm sick of getting one miss runs with an awesome PA and resulting in a terrible rank/score overall. I really don't like change but this is something I'd like to have changed. Mashing an FC shouldn't get you top 10 on Jamais Vu. Although, I did the same thing. I've been trying to fix that score with a good PA but I keep getting one miss runs. Raw scoring all the way.

The hard part is purging the raw scoring tables of hacked scores. I imagine a script can weed out a lot of them, but it would require some work. I do feel like it should be raw scoring too, as do almost all of the active FFR members.

Give it time, I suppose.

We've been trying to get rid of shitty legacy charts for a long time

everyone wants them gone from at minimal the public ranks

but it has yet to ever happen

If the move to raw scoring happens, how will FC's be accounted for? Currently, if you've previously gotten a 200-100-0-x FC, then get 10-0-1-0 missing the last note, the latter is the better score, and you lose the FC in your stats.
I think that anytime you get a FC, that should stay in your stats. FC coding would have to be reworked anyways. how would this work?

If raw scoring is implemented, then if you've ever gotten the FC, it should count as you having the FC, even if your current score is not an FC.

I think that's the only fair way to do it.

So once you hit an FC for a chart at all, boom, FC triggered for that, even if you get better non-FC scores.

I still suggest that Raw scoring should at-least be implemented to Tier points.
So we keep the uniqueness(arguably) of FFR's combo scoring and the nubs can get their silly mashed FC, but will not receive a high tier point.

Possibly adding a separate ranks page strictly for raw Tier; or just keep clean up the raw ranks page and make it as official as Combo scoring is where you have Top 10 for raw etc.
