Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
Alright, thanks, and if you noticed, I did e-mail you a fixed version, but you said it didn't make it in time, so oh well, next time, and blu knew about the music thing, but couldn't understand why I stepped it that way without hearing the bass, snare, and symbols all at once, but it's cool, I'll send it again with a few changesIt's getting better all the time
I used to get mad at my school (No, I can't complain)
The teachers who taught me weren't cool (No, I can't complain)
You're holding me down (Oh Oh)
Turning me round (Oh Oh)

PATASHU!! DO NOT PLAY THE FILE I SENT YOU! I found the sync error! The beat offset was off by like, .5, or something, anywho, it's synced now and sounds MUCH better, I wish I could just resend now to the judges and have them do it quickly with better audio and stuff instead of waiting through an entire batch because my audio file I sent made it a day late, also, Patashu, sending you the better file nowIt's getting better all the time

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
Offset errors don't matter in terms of judging, and VERY likely was not the sync error(s) the judges referred to.
Offsets for different people vary, and is easy for the judges to change if they feel necessary.
Sync errors usually refer to wrong BPM or wrong notes/rhythms
However, I am speaking generally, and since the judges didn't even play the file, I could be wrong.Comment

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
I'm not entirely sure what you guys mean by this. Can you give measure examples, so I can get this back in to tass?Gym Leader (RBY)
jx-felt it lacks the layer for bass drum inconsistently (mainly 4ths)
blu-missed some synth 8th notes in some parts, listen carefully
What parts? Also, I cut the last minute out. that should be better. Just kinda makes it one-hand biased now, since it doesn't repeat.Slow Down
jx-could be layered better imo, also felt a bit long
Tass, I'll re-send Gym Leader once I fix it up a bit more. Sent you the fixed dwi for Tears of Remorse.
P.S. Can I send in 3 new files and 2 resubmits you didn't see?Last edited by Xandertrax; 12-1-2008, 06:55 PM.Comment

okay it actually is good, one thing I'd definitely change though is the right handed 16th jacks near the beginning; way harder than anything else in the filePatashu makes Chiptunes in Famitracker:

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
Oh crap, I just realized that one of the songs that I sent in for the next batch has 2 charts.
Use the oni chart, not the edit. Also, I realize that I have to cut out the first 40 seconds that I didn't step, but not doing that until I see how it does.
Or do I have to resend it?Last edited by sc979; 12-1-2008, 06:49 PM....Comment

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
xander: that's fine
sc979: if you have 40 sec of blank to start a file and it has 2 charts... your best bet is to re-send it.RIPComment

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
Just to be specific, my song is easy because since I have the original sheet music and the mp3 is played off of the computer program that designed it, and it was made at 150 BPM, it is perfectly at 150BPM, and since I have the sheet music in front of me when stepping this, the notes/rhythms are exactly the same as the song, and trust me, it sounds that way, no one graded it seriously (or even could have if they tried) due to the audio quality, hence why I was so adamant about always reminding them to try the new file or make the volume really loud, but it's okay, next time it'll get in for sureOffset errors don't matter in terms of judging, and VERY likely was not the sync error(s) the judges referred to.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
see, my file doesn't suck, at all! It just had a bad audio file, I believe the judges will completely change their minds after playing it again, so much that I'm willing to bet that if I send it in to JX and Blu now for a quick review, they will give it 5+, and I'll bet on that
EDIT: Tass, are you willing to bet that score on a resubmit, and if I lose, I get banned for a week and credits wiped?Last edited by stavie33; 12-1-2008, 07:42 PM.It's getting better all the time

Stavie, if you double-post one more time, I'm personally going to hack tass' account just to ban you.
Seriously. It's really obnoxious. just edit your first post.Comment
