Stepping a Christmas song at this time of the year is actually clever because that's the only way it could get released around Christmas time. I wanted to do that as well (coincidentally enough, with Carol of the Bells, rofl!), but I'm just a lazy bag of poop.

It has been brought up many times, and I'll say the same thing: if you have permission from the person or group who created that mp3 you're stepping, then you can step it. Unless otherwise noted, you don't have to ask permission from the original artist of the song. If this was the case, many songs on FFR would break that rule.
