    Bluenote/Synth Songs

There've already been a few threads from people who've noticed this happening, and there's a lot of conjecture as to what's going on, so I'll post this sticky to clear it up. Any new threads are going to be locked and redirected here.

For the uninformed: The bluenote/synth songs are a number of older songs from the earliest days of the site, where the files were actually made basically in notepad with some frame timings on them. As a result, they're pretty wildly offsync, and as they predate the period where notes were coloured based on their timing, are blue noteskinned throughout.

What happened is that the list of synth/bluenote songs was moved from their various genres into the "Support" genre, which previously held only the three songs obtainable by buying the artist's album in the FFR Shop.

The Bluenote/Synth songs, being in Support, are no longer public, which is why you'll have lost public AAAs/FCs and the total public song count is down. Since they're in the Support Genre right now, and nobody happens to own the tokens (since they don't exist) the songs aren't available for play, which is why you can't find them.

Anybody who is a veteran, or still has subscriber benefits can see their ranks on the "Token level rank" page. Your scores still exist, the songs still exist, and you haven't lost any AAAs or FCs.

The Support Genre is going to be renamed to "Legacy" containing all of the old songs that weren't created under the new noteskinning/syncing system.

The Legacy Genre -will- be a public genre. The songs will be available to everybody, and once that is done, the songs will re-appear in the normal levelranks page, and the profile bars will re-update with the old number of songs, and your old AAA/FC counts.

Nobody has lost songs, nobody has lost AAAs, nobody has lost FCs, we're just being careful with the databases as we get these moved over, taking is slowly, making backups, to ensure that no data is lost.

EDIT: The songs should now be appearing normally in the Support genre, playable by everybody.

Quick question, are you aware if something will be done eventually concerning the 3 support tokens?

There will be a set of three rather difficult unlock requirements to get access to the three former Support tokens. Anybody who purchased the support tokens will keep access to them, and not have to do the unlock requirements.

I sure hope I didn't spend all day doing this for my levelrank for nothing. . .

These songs are important and take a lot of patience and dedication to aaa...

Are songs that are colored, but have have annoying backgrounds not considered legacy songs?

Delirium is the only thing that comes to mind, but I think there is at least 2.

bleh, why does everyone insist one changing the note color on P4U, that will completely change the files difficulty and ruin the point of the file. lol.

If they fix any of the sync in any of the files or colourise them it pretty much gives a big '**** you' to everyone that worked their ass off to get them aaa'd in the first place.

I don't know why people keep suggesting that they do this. Personally I think it would ruin all of those god-awful files. But when you think about it, those files are a part of ffr history and shouldn't be touched.

tl;dr stop asking to resync them, they are fine the way they are. integrity of the game blah blah blah

AAAd most of those files, happy to see this being implemented. No '**** you' aspect for me.

Its basically impossible to resync song like synth songs because half of the notes in the files dont go to anything, so what are you going to be syncing the notes to? And if you put them in color it looks like a mess unless you found something to sync the notes to and made a bpm change on all those notes to make them all like 16ths. Really isnt worth all the fuss.
