no stay one hand or index, those are the only ones that are fun to watch. Watching spread is like watching 2 people do DDR at the same time on the same pad.

You shut up when you're talking to me.

          :O

I didnt even know that you could have used both your hands.

I just figured this out yesterday...

but I rather use my one hands. Its easy actually. So far I can play standard and a couple of tricky with one hand play. :O

As long as you can get both hands on the arrow keys comfortably, or you do some spread option with the hands apart, sure, you can play with two hands. I suspect most people start with one hand because that's typically how you use the arrow keys on the keyboard. I've tried playing with two hands before, but just did worse than usual so I kind of gave up. Maybe with practice I could do it, but I also prefered to stick with one hand.

cuteyoshigirl, you should check out the thread about actual song difficulties. The FFR difficulties are OK, but aren't very consistent because (I think) the author chooses the difficulty level. There's a thread around here that puts all songs on the same scale, so it's more accurate. I can do OK with one hand, too, but higher difficulty songs get very hard to do. Part of it's my skill, I'm sure, but I think part of it is also playing one handed. People generally say that it's easier to do better and score higher if you use two hands, so getting really good with one hand takes more time and practice, but it can be done. *shrug* I say play whatever is comfortable and fun for you.

Essentially retired now, but still ranked on the list of FFR's Top One Handers.

haha, yeah it was really hard for me when I did standard for the one hand play, but after a while I got the hang of it. I'm starting to play difficult level now with one hand, So far I have it down. ^-^

                Re: 1 hand play

I've played 1 hand all of my FFR life, but my friend play with 2 hands. I wonder for the life of her how she gets her hands on my small keyboard. It was only meant for 1 handed players, I think. I find 1 hand to be much easier once you become better at FFR, (i.e getting good scores on Challenging songs) but if you want to become really good at 1 hand, you should starts out with 1 hand. I have NEVER done two hands and I'm just fine.

I guess it all depends on your comfort level. I play with one hand occasionally if the song is slow or if I am drinking a soda and playing. I usually use the two-handed method. I use this style, it takes some getting used to, but when you get the hang of it, it really works.
