    Re: 1 hand play

im a vet 1 hander, but i play one handed wierd and most people say its slow but...

i use my index for down and left and middle just for top and ring for right... Staircases are a breeze and i only have touble with right-up trills because of weakness in my ring and middle

The only time my middle ever leaves the up button is to do down-left trills...

You shut up when you're talking to me.

      Re: 1 hand play

      I play different than stratos.

      Middle: Down and Up
      Index: Left
      Ring: Right

Pinkey finger feels weird. I even hate using it to type with my right hand.

staricases arent that hard, it is just pattern and remember the pattern and once you read it make sure it is on beat and then simply do the pattern.
i have no cool quote from anyone else...

Dronak, I think we are complete opposite one handers.

You have a better PA than me (I can't AAA Mario for the life of me)
You suck at LDUR (I suck at RUDL)
          You've been here 2 years (I've been here .5)
          You're overall 5k (I'm overall 1.5k)

Have you tried screen shrinking so you can only see the bottom of the "READY"? That gives you a bit more time to see jumps and jacks (haha), but still lets you seem to do rolls/staircases/stream better.

One hand play is easy. Start from easy songs if you're good go on and on and on and on. Get the point bud?

Ta-da! The edit button! Isn't that a smart idea???

              Re: 1 hand play

im a decent one hander, i can pass almost any song, and i have fced a few harder ones...

try to use this as your setup for your fingers

              Middle: Up/Down
              Index: left
              Ring: right

if you cant read that fast, for stair cases, when you see it start on the right and go left, figure out how fast your gonna have to press the buttons, and go ring, middle up, middle down, index, and backwards if it goes back...

if you can easily read it, just have no technique, just practise...

the best song i find for practise is "stalled out and sushi bars" for one handers, it is all singles hits and few doubles, which are easy, and is really good practise for you, atleast i find...

this is harder to learn but can pay of in the long run: 2 fingers, middle index one handed.(also great for pianist).

I guess in a sense, we are. Some things to note: a good portion of my 2 years was spent not playing FFR because my old computer couldn't do it properly. Overall rank is based purely on total points; even bad players can get a good rank if they play enough songs. (Edit: In other words, my rank is decent despite being about average because I've played enough to get a bunch of points.) I've only gotten 3 perfect combos and on very easy songs; it's very hard for me to get 100% accuracy. As for the LDUR or RUDL thing, well, we're just different there.

Yes, I've heard about that trick and tried it before. It didn't seem to help me. I wrote about this in some other thread. Maybe it's something where if I practiced more, or on harder/faster songs, it would help more. But when I tried, not being able to read ahead just made it harder. I think with my long musical background, I almost rely on being able to see what's coming up. *shrug* Maybe I should try halving the screen again some time, maybe on faster/harder songs, and see if it helps any. It's hard to keep going with something when it just screws you up initially.

how many times do i have to say that it doesnt take any skill to pass an ffr song

every miss/boo takes the same away from your life bar as a perfect adds so all you have to do is hit half of the notes to survive which is piss easy regardless of style

edit: sup just passed molto one handed by mashing jumps

It just takes practice and alot of patience. Learning spread takes longer and often seems to slow you down. (As in, if your already good with one hand, you have to re-learn FFR and SM with Spread. )

As said above the main weakness with one handed play is the middle ring combos. (Up then right combos) As seen with Dendrite, if anyone has any tips on a better way to play one handed that would be great.

I also find I have problems with songs like Breaking the Common and some really heavy songs My hand gets tired.

                                Yes, do spread, or index.
I am a pretty decent indexer.
