    kthx.

America=not brainwashed. We aren't being brainwashed into thinking we are the best. We are, no denying it, the last superpower in the world. We've even passed super, we're into Mega. If some country pisses us off, flick our finger and we can have half of our superb air force and a small chuck of troops over to obliterate the government there. It's too simple. Only problem, which keeps the world at peace right now, is that the government knows it's more profit to trade with your enemies than to conquer them.
    Let's have a looksee.

"We aren't being brainwashed into thinking we are the best. We are, no denying it." is the logical fallacy 'begging the question' and must be dropped from contention which also destroys your following points which chain off of it: "We're the last superpower in the world. We've even passed super, we're into mega... etc..."

You also seem to think that with a 'flick [of] our finger' we can take out any country we want. Possibly, but you never conisdered the ramifications of said actions. Every group in the world (such as the UN) would be against us if we proceeded militaristic actions that are diametrically opposed to other groups' actions. Oh they wouldn't just glare at us like we are doing by ignoring their decision and going into Iraq, they'd assault our country.

"Only problem, which keeps the world at peace right now, is that the government knows it's more profit to trade with your enemies than to conquer them."

That's a problem? And global imperialism which is what I can infer that you suggest from that statement isn't.

You seem to forget traits that stem from global imperialism: Lower QoL, corrupt governmetns, etc... I dare say I'm going down the slippery slope here but it would lead to anarchy.

I appreciate you spending time elaborating on your rebuttal. Do that for more than one paragraph and I'd be more impressed. I would appreciate it more if you did it for everyone else.

Now on to the discussion. "'We aren't being brainwashed into thinking we are the best. We are, no denying it.' is the logical fallacy..." I disagree. We are the best. I am not being told this by any source within our country, I'm looking at the cold hard facts. We won a land war in Asia, in Afghanistan even (the country fought over in the Great Game). We have the most stable economy in the world. Our written morals, whether we uphold them or not, are things that many countries are striving to gain as well. We truly are the best. We have no competition at it either, thus proving my statement of "We're the last superpower in the world." The following statement, the one saying how we have gone beyond super, is further inplying that we have no competition in being the strongest.

I also know about the ramifications. We are the last superpower, and history tells us that the little people tend to overthrow the big man. American Revolution, French Revolution, Magna Carta, all of these support my claim. I know because we are the superpower that we are watched closely. We are despised. I know that it is a matter of time before we are challenged. I can only hope that history isn't always right.

Finally, I never said that global imperialism was good. It is the last thing I would endorse. I said, maybe not clearly, that trade profit is the one thing that keeps any country from wars of conquest. If that caused confusion, I apologize. I sincerely apologize for the flame I wrote earlier today. The fact that you provided little or not point or reason behind your so called "rebuttal" sent me over the wall.

Do you really think that with all this crap that has been going on with the younger generation, (yes, my generation,) we will be able to uphold the morals and the values that our forefathers fought for? Well guess what, in case you haven't noticed, we aren't doing a very good job so far!

Unless we are given a significant wake-up call, most of us are just going to end snug in our own little country, with the Media's horror story about the rest of the world in our minds, brainwashed as all the idiots who said that Rome would never fall.

The winds of change are ever gale-force, my friends, and they will continue to shift power.

I turn to Eastern Asia. Already some of their cities are making ours look backwards. And at least most of them have healthier attitudes over there.

History will repeat itself, and we are poised for it to happen over the next couple of decades.

Thank you, The Typist! I agree with you wholeheartedly. Most people our age are so spoiled rotton by our country's good fortune that they don't realize what is really happening to us. We're becoming too complacent and we need to wake up. We're on the verge of being adults and we're the next ones to make decisions for this country. That fact scares me considering that most people our age tend to believe everything that's dished out to them through the media.

We're entering a scary time, everybody. I fear for our country and the world.
