Is it easier to gain than lose? Do you have first-hand experience with this? Or even second-hand? Not saying you're wrong, just wondering how you know this.

And I'd never want to be deaf, or overweight, or extremely underweight.... I'm already underweight and I've been trying to gain weight for a long time. Let me tell you, it's hard. I haven't gained a pound.

Sometimes I think I'm making progress, that maybe I gained weight... and I step on the scale and I weigh LESS than before

I'd rather be deaf than blind, because if i'm blind then I would never be able to see my kids or wife etc.

It isnt such a hard choice, but I choose deafness.

Remember, you can get a hearing aid for your ear. For blind people, you get something so you can see square shapes.

        Obvious choice.

i hearing aid doesn't help being deaf, its like saying "remember, you can get glasses for your eyes." dont matter if ur blind.

i would rather be blind...kick butt like matt murdock from DareDevil. now it'd take a lot of practice but maybe i could pull it off.

Like Jam said. Hearing aids don't help the deaf. And even when they do, they're a pain in the ass. My mom has special hearing aids that sort-of help sometimes (i.e. extremely muddy sound as opposed to no sound at all). But mostly it just gives her massive headaches. They seriously don't help.

Also like Jam, I would rather be blind. By a long shot. Blindness doesn't hinder your communication with people. You can still hear conversations, you can respond to people.. you don't have to learn a whole different freaking language. You can get a guide dog. You CAN use the internet, you just can't admire the pretty pictures.

I love music AND art, so it's not a matter of that.

I say deaf easily because I've been blind for a few minutes before from lack of oxygen to my head. I don't care what you saw in a movie, being able to move or see things is much more important than being able to hear. I'd probably choose being blind from birth, yeah, but if I had the choice of going blind or deaf now I'd easily choose deaf.

I understand that, Arch0wl. But being deaf from birth is definitely no fun. I don't know what I'd choose right now if I had to GO blind or deaf... I don't think I can choose. But for a birth defect I'd MUCH rather be blind.
