Re: My first A
Similar boat as izzy. I've always hated school and classes. It has never come around for me. I make sure to scrape acceptable grades (at least C's but mostly B's) since I'm not the one paying for my freshman year of college. I'm debating not going to college next year and seeing if I have any other options because I'm not happy in the classroom setting. It has made me sad because I think I shine in so many different ways but I've always been kept in a setting I simply reproach.Originally posted by Staiaini am super purple hippoComment

Study something you actually like.
Doing well in school opens up a lot of doors for you.Comment

Re: My first A
I like psychology but then I take a class in psychology and I don't like the class. I like math but I take a class in math and I don't like the class.
Because of this it makes me think it's the environment/setting not the subject. I'm just not sure.Originally posted by Staiaini am super purple hippoComment

It may very well be the environment, but what specifically is it that you dislike?Comment

Re: My first A
I disliked learning language but then again that might be because of the class setting. I don't even know if there is anything I don't want to learn or experience. Nothing I've encountered.
So basically I can't tell you what I dislike because I think (not even sure) it's subjective to the environment, I want to find out. And I'm thinking if I take a year away and do something else and it is even worse at least I'll have a reason and some type of motivation to be in college.
Edit: speaking of which time for my final finals. Hooray!Originally posted by Staiaini am super purple hippoComment

A good teacher seriously makes all the difference. There's nothing quite like taking a class from someone who is literally in the top echelon of their field and yet is eloquent and humorous enough to make the class enjoyable.
I remember during shopping period once, I had to drop a math class because the professor was godawful. His chalk scrawling was ALL OVER the place and he'd be stuffing random shit in-between lines and at weird angles, etc. All the while, he was yammering on and on at the speed of fuck and nobody knew what the hell he was talking about. Those that didn't drop that class wound up having an absurdly low midterm average compared to the other sections, lmfao. Pretty sure that prof got let go.Comment

Re: My first A
I think the process most colleges use for being able to drop and add classes is Bullshit. They give you only through the 1st week to add a new class, which basically means you have to base whether or not to take the class on the 1st day (when there is no actual teaching going on.)A good teacher seriously makes all the difference. Re: My first A
AP Chemistry is a wonderful course, it did wonders to prepare me for college level Chemistry. However, my class had only 6 students, so we got to cover a lot more material in depth. Also, I'm a chemistry major, the reason I took AP Chemistry was because I actually LOVE chemistry. None of my classmates seemed to have any trouble in the subject, but they were the type of students to never drop below the top 10% line of our class. (When I graduated I believe my class rank was in the high 100s)
tl;dr: If you really like Chemistry, go for it. I ****ing love chemistry.Originally posted by topwhat the hell happened to alden
