I have taken 3 years of latin, 2 years of spanish, and am going to be starting German next year for a total of 4 years. I have started some German though.
My suggestion is spanish. It is useful and very close to english.

I really wanted to take Italian but my school didn't offer it so I had to settle with Spanish. They're pretty closely related so I don't really mind. You should try Italian.

i would recommend taking spanish just because of the applications of it. its not really that hard, and it is one of the most spoken languages in the world. many jobs will pay extra if you know spanish.

If you're struggling with spanish, take french. I personally think spanish is easier if you already took 2 years of it. Once you learn the fundamentals, it's just memorizing words.

German or Mandarin are probably the most ideal as far as practical applications. Latin is quite useful as well, though it pertains more to literature and linguistics than personal communication.

I would take Latin for that reason but we only have Beginning Latin and I have to take through an intermediate level for my degree.

Mandarin is not easy to learn, at least comparatively. I'd stick with a romance language, and if you feel adventurous, I'd branch out to some Germanic languages.

Just learn them all it's what we Euros do

Start with Dutch, then French, German, Latin, ancient Greek, maybe afterwards Spanish/Italian.
