There's almost no way you you could have enough knowledge about anything in CT to make coherent posts and not know basic math.

Explain how someone can make that post, and not know the Square root of 16? It so incredibly basic. There's almost no way you you could have enough knowledge about anything in CT to make coherent posts and not know the answer to a basic math fact.

To screw with y'all. You were trying to see if he was a bot. That's absurd, and just as fruitful as trying to prove a negative. If someone's stupid and gullible enough to succumb to such paranoia, why wouldn't you feed it? Give the wrong answers and the inquisitors look like morons for being so credulous. How often is your humanity called into question? It was an absurd situation, and absurd situations by no means requires sincere responses.

Why WOULD he make the correct answer? I feel pretty secure in my humanity, and I don't feel that I have to go around proving it, and by answering the question sincerely, he legitimizes it, and that's the LAST thing that needed to happen.

Since you probably missed my edit from earlier (you were posting while I was making it), I'll repost it: "If anything, a Chico Marx-like response is evidence of humanity."

Why I still believe he probably is one is because his "humanity" was never attacked. TRD asked a simple question, never said anything about "being a bot" until he answered. The was no reason or call for sarcasm, and in that situation it wasn't humorous anyway. Maybe you just know a lot of people who use sarcasm randomly.

I have to agree with Guido. Sarcastic people *coughmecough* love to piss people off by doing things like be smart for awhile and then randomly throw out the wrong answer :P or being overly sarcastic. There a number of reasons why he might of answered 12. Personally I just think hes a guy that wrote something for English back in High School, (if hes out) thought it sounded special. Turned it in and then posted it everywhere in order to "impress" the arrow mashing masses that make up FFR. Granted I read through it, and took me awhile to figure out that he was saying the same thing like five times only rewording it each time. Bet the English teacher didn't see through it though :P. Then when we get sick of stupidity you guys claim him as a bot, now if I thought I was God Of Logic and thought I was all cool, and then someone said I was a bot... I'd be hurt and pissed; so maybe that answer was supossed to have an icy chill of sarcasm dripping over it rather than the inquisitive tone of someone who's just pulling a number out of their butt. Anywho I forgot what the whole point of this was, other than someone being pissed; so I'll stop here.

I bet it was damn funny to him. Remember what I said about the inquisitors all looking like morons running around in a cloud of ignorance? It's funny. Fooling people has been funny for milennia. It was funny to me, too, watching everyone disregard reason like that.

You're still looking at this situation too narrow-mindedly. I'm certain that you've had a situation in your life where you've done the same thing, and you're being too critical right now, trying to analyze every part of it (presumably because you're looking stupid right now and you want to find some sort of ground to stand on, which is understandable). The fact is, though, it was a perfectly legitimate response, and if you can't conceive of a single situation where a little pretense isn't at all amusing, you're probably leading a very boring life.

EDIT (ninja'd): To reiterate, we don't need to be analyzing why he did what he did, because common sense and experience will show that it was reasonable. He was being a smartass, end of story.

likewise, you cant prove hes a bot (unless admins have powers that can tell or something)..... but, it seems much more apparent that he is a bot.

it was said that hes been googled and that he/it/w.e does the whole "Bot Posting" thing on alot of different forums. i would think its to test out the bot...

you also say he was messing around to make the accusers look stupid..... personally, i find being sarcastic more funny IRL than over the internet.....

personally, i think the bot-maker goes around making accounts himself, and then sets off his bot....

Prove it, no, but come on, man, exercise a little judgment. Do you really, honestly think that this guy's a bot and not (what was posted in the above quoted thread) some guy with a superiority complex and a dictionary? What kind of bot would give several false answers to a question it clearly understood? I dunno, but a guy with a superiority complex and a dictionary sure would, especially if his humanity were called into question.

I'm finding this whole "is he a bot" thing absolutely hilarious, but I'm also very disappointed in the rest of you.
