I type with 10 fingers in no particular fashion. They would always try to teach me in elemtary school to type with the homerow thing. By middle school I could type 100+ words per minute and all those typing games only went to 80. Now I can type at 120-130 wpm at best.

In your face homerow keys. It's like trying to put your feet back in the middle of the dance mat instead of just going to the next arrow.

I don't think the "correct way" is any better than any more personally familiar method (where you don't need to look at the keyboard) unless you are at a very high level of comfortable typing (150 wpm+), have very dexterous, probably large hands, and want to become even faster.

I use the "hunt and peck", without the hunting or pecking... and my WPM is a consistent ~130 =x

depends on how serious i am at the time, i normally use a slightly "tweeked normal typing" where i use diffrent fingers to hit some keys than what middle school tried to teach me, other days its a not quite hunting and pecking "and other days i spend teaching myself how to type with 1 hand so i can do something like take a drink

All my fingers on my right, thumb and pinky on my left because my other fingers essentially non-existant. (Well, my pinky is non-existant too, but I use that entire side of my hand really. It's amazing how much more flexible my wrist and hand are on my no-fingers hand compared to my right.) I find that I'm much, much faster at typing words I use all the time too. One girl in highschool did a speech about her brother and how he coped without hands or fingers or something, and he typed at a decent speed using his toes. Awesome. Especially since physiologically it should be much more difficult, because not each individual toe is innervated like our fingers are.

My option isn't in the poll, I use index, middle and ring fingers while typing letters and when it comes to using the backspace or enter or punctuation, I'll use my right pinky. And derp my thumbs for the space bar, but mainly my left one.

I type the correct way. There is a correct way to type, and that's with all ten fingers. I get annoyed with people who either type with one/two fingers. Or people who have to constantly look up and then back down while typing.

I use both hands and all fingers but I don't keep them on the "home" row. My CCC (Computing for College & Careers) class teaches us that technique because it's the "proper way". It seems too stiff and a hassle.

I don't ever have to look at the keyboard unless I seem to consistently miss some letter for some stupid reason or another XD mainly Q or Z is when that happens >.<

This is my finger layout:



I have my left middle finger on W/S
My left ring finger on A
My left Index finger on D

My right Index on K

I use those fingers to type. I get around 85-90WPM.

I'm more often than not using my thumbs and only really every actually look at what letters I'm hitting whenever I'm missing to many or I have to shift to use numbers and symbols.

On a regular keyboard though I use rin, middle and index on both hands

I use my right thumb for spacing, that's pretty much it lol. I look down at the keyboard sometimes, too. But that's only when I'm typing numbers or symbols. I still haven't memorized those yet for some strange reason...
