Ice cream is probably more helpful than ice, because it's like putting ice directly on the gums/teeth, as opposed to your cheek.

I was in too much pain to even say anything when I left the dentist's office, and I haven't seen my doctor in years, so that's kinda why I "asked FFR" since my parents and brothers were no help at all. :/

Personally, when I eat ice cream and it touches my gums, it really hurts.. so I don't see how that's helpful. Pressing it to my cheek is just fine, rofl.

I guess I'm different, ice cream always numbed me up a little while reducing swelling at the same time, but it didn't hurt too much. XD

Suck it up. I got all 4 of my wisdom teeth taken out. Cost $1000. (All at one time).

Didnt hurt. I didnt need any painkillers. Just make sure, not to touch the "holes" with your tongue, or eat small food (like rice) for a while.

          It will bleed alot.

Ouch. Stay away from gum and taffy for a while then. For some people that's harder than you think.

I actually don't eat a bunch of sweets, so no problem there. :/

And shut up, some people are more sensitive than others. I'm most likely going to need painkillers. I guess I should probably get them before my wisdom teeth are actually removed, right?

Most likely, your oral surgeon will give you a prescription for some good painkillers, along with other stuff like penicillin to fight infection. And, truth, everyone's sensitivity is a bit different, take my sis who got hers done yesterday, she's a lot more sensitive and needed a stronger painkiller than what they gave me.

EDIT: but then again, that's how my oral surgeon worked...
