On Monday, I had an appointment with the dentist to get silver fillings on two cavities. My first cavities, in 15 years, so, to say the least, I'm pretty angry at myself for being careless about not taking care of my teeth like I usually have been since forever. Anyway, I went, got the anesthetics, but the thing is, I guess maybe it's because I was twitching really bad, and something could've slipped or it was just a reaction, but the first shot on the right side of my mouth made my cheek get completely swollen.
Now, the two cavities that I had were on either side of my mouth, the top row of my teeth, and in the very, very back. Anyway, after the whole thing was done and over with, I left drooling and everything because my mouth was really numb. The things that pisses me off though is that my mom told me that that particular dentist didn't use "a lot" of anesthetics, and that the numbness would go away in 2-3 hours. It didn't. My mouth was numb for about 6 hours, maybe even more, and my face was so swollen that I couldn't bear the pain anymore, so I went to sleep. (This of course, happened after my 3 hour Death Note marathon.)
I thought the swelling in my cheek would go away, but it hasn't. It's been like this for several days now, and even though it's gone down a lot, it really, really hurts still, I mean, even pressing a finger to my cheek would make me uncomfortable.
Maybe I should just let time heal, but it's starting to bother me. I've been taking Ibuprofen to get rid of the pain, and it hasn't worked, at all. So, basically, the whole point of this thread is..
Do you guys have any ideas on how to get rid of my swollen cheek faster, or any pain killer ideas, if this has happened to you before? It's just bothering me a lot since I'm going to go to the Kings Dominion FFR meet up on Sunday, and I don't want to show up looking like a squirrel. Here are just a couple of pictures, just to get an idea of what it looks like. Really hideous lump, and these were taken at around 3AM. (Couldn't sleep.)
Remember, it's my right cheek, which should technically be my left from these pictures.

I'm also getting the wisdom teeth on the top row of my teeth removed in the next couple of months or so. Great fun, huh?
