    Re: Swollen Mouth?

You should hang around on the internet all day and read posts by people who aren't doctors or dentists. That'll put an end to the swelling.

Some of the previous few posts I read of yours were about sucking ****... Then I saw the title of this thread and laughed.

Then I laughed when Dragon said dirty needle and thought AIDs.

      I'd call the dentist...

hmm. just put warm water, salt and swish and take a few painkillers. and only put ice on it before you go to bed for 5 minutes.

This comes from the son of a Registered Dental Hygenist:

Ice, and plenty of it. The 30 mins of ice then no ice is good. You can use painkillers for your own comfort, won't do anything to reduce the swelling though. I dunno if it's still numb or not but...resist chewing on your cheek/tongue/whatever else is numb. I've seen people chew they're tongue halfway off and didn't even know it until the numbing meds wore off.

If your cheek is still swollen...well, I'd be very disappointed.

Maybe you shouldn't put that much candy in your mouth at once? There is only one hammy!

Having just taken my wisdom teeth out a week ago, here's what worked: ice as soon as possible as long as possible, and ice cream, plenty of ice cream. Strawberry ice cream seems to do better in killing the pain than chocolate. :3

No, of course my mouth isn't still numb, it's been three days. Besides, if it was, I'd be worried. But my cheek is still swollen. I used some ice on it, and it's beginning to not hurt as much, and it's starting to look normal. xD

Of course I go to the dentist every 6 months. I kinda slacked on brushing my teeth these past 6 months I guess. Besides, I got both cavities in the back of my mouth practically, in other words, you can't even see the silver fillings (thank god)..

But yeah, I'll definitely need a good painkiller for when I get my wisdom teeth removed. Every story I've heard about those sounds horrible. >_>; And I'm really, really scared to tell the truth.

I didn't know ice cream helped. xD I'll have to tell my mom about that.

                              Re: Swollen Mouth?

I had teeth out for my braces and they did the whole novacane injection in mouth thing.

I didn't feel any pain at all in fact it felt kinda nice the weird feeling of my teeth slowly moving out of the gums yet not really feeling anything.

Theres really nothing worrying about having teeth pulled out it doesn't hurt at all due to the novacane totally numbing and swelling your mouth.

Although in both my instances the swelling never really lasted longer then night time.

It's pretty funny when you try to drink something and then it just squirts out the otherside of your mouth due to not being able to put pressure on your lips.

Glad to hear it's getting better, but why the hell did you ask FFR instead of your dentist or another doctor?

PS I could barely tell there was any swelling and wouldn't have known if it wasn't mentioned.
