Frst off before you read on i know im not the only one that thinks this, but someone needs to be brutally honest. If you opinion about me chages to a heartless bastard then so be it, but this has to be said

The majority of us don't want to hear you wanting to commit suicide.

It might make you feel better to talk to someone, but I really don't need a life story about your problems. We all have our own problems.

If you're thinking about commiting suicide, talk to someone that can help you. Parents, teachers, good friend, not almost complete strangers though. We can't do anything except say 'sorry you hurt inside' in a half assed half hearted way. thats not going to help you get over things.

Also, no one likes hearing about death, unless you're one of those strange people.

Finally i don't care how heartless this makes me look. I know a majority of you are thinking the same thing when you read some of these posts and i know that you want to say it also, but out of respect you don't. I didn;t want to either, but ive got my own problems to deal with and i don't need to know that someones thinking of killing themself when i've got my own life to worry about.

I have to agree Don'tcareaboutmyid. Although the chit chat forum is for anything, there are a few things that aren't allowed such as: Flame Wars and Porn. Suicide should be added to that list.

hm, i disagree. if its a serious plea about suicide, i'm much rather here about it and give it a shot at convincing the person not to do it. granted, a majority of the topics on this (well, i've seen two) are from kids that are 14 that either dont have the balls to do it or are just looking for someone to give them sympathy, but on the off chance that someone is truthfully considering suicide i'd much rather them talk to the couple of us that actually care rather than go and kill themselves because they didnt talk to anyone about it and feel unloved or whatever. just my two cents.

I agree, Falcon, but I take it a step further: even if they are only looking for sympathy, they clearly are in a bad way mentally and/or emotionally to resort to that, and could very likely benefit from a sympathetic ear. Ideally, they wouldn't need to stoop to suicide threats to get help, but a lot of people can be very callous and dismiss pleas for help, especially if the one making the plea is a teenager. (I rarely post here put this thread struck a nerve.)

Here's the thing. Generally, if somebodys' gonna do it, I mean actually do it, they don't tell anyone. Or if they do, they tell their closest friends. Anything posted on a forum is just a plea for help, they just want 200 people to say "No! Don't do it! We love you!" They may be depressed, but hell, so am I. Don't see me spewing it all over.

I thought long and hard about posting that suicide article after I wrote it. I thought that there might be, as you suggested, people who would "listen to the bull crap" I'm saying. My point of veiw right there... suicide is stupid.. nothing could bad enough where you have to end your own life to end the pain... NO matter what it is... its not worth dieing over..

I agree. My thoughts on suicide, is that suicide is for the weak. Life is a war, and suicide is only an easy way out.

Sadly, I recently had a friend overdose. He lived, thankfully, but he's not the same person he was before. No one saw it comming. He seemed pretty happy before.
He keeps talking about how he loves me, and he did it because I was already with someone. That makes me feel like sh!t.
I've told him that I don't love him in the same way, and he doesn't seem to respect that or move on.
He's 17, and I am 14, but I swear.... I thought he was more mature than this. I'M more mature than that.

It really ticks me off when people just go "Oh, boohoo, the person I have a crush on already has a boyfriend, so I have no reason to live anymore." Dude. There's more women in the world than me!

Suicide pisses me off. It's only an easy way out of life.

heres the thing guys (and girls). i agree with you on a majority of these points. suicide is stupid. it is shallow. it is the easy way out. but nevertheless, people still do it. we dont because we have a good grasp on reality and how bad things can be sometimes, but some do. and in those cases, i still say that we should try to help those people the best we can. though we think its a stupid and cop-out thing to do, there's still a life at stake in some, if not most, cases. we may not understand it, but we have to try to the best we can and be compassionate when a person comes to us with a genuine problem. thats what a community does.

Idiot: Im going to kill myself..
Me: lol.. Why?
Idiot: My mom, sister, brother, dad, grandma, granpa died.. my dog jsut got hit by a truck.. my cat was eatten by a squirrel.. my first born child was taken by rumpelstiltskin.. and I just lost all money in stocks..
Me:... wow.. you went through some shit... so why are you killing yourself?
Idiot: Cause i got nothing to live for..
Meude.. stop being a dumbass... killing yourself is the dumbest thing you could ever do..

well that really goes back to religious beliefs... which is all theory in itself.. I dont have a religious belief.. I used to believe in evolution.. but that just explains what happened to our planet and life.. nothing explains the origins of the universe.. big bang theory only describes space... what was before the big bang.. how did that stuff come to be.. nothing has all the answers.. so im jsut in a confused state right now..

No.. its not a solution... suicide is the cheat sheet to life... your whole life is based on that you will die.. killing yourself just lets you figure out the answer to the question of life, that question being.. "how am i going to die?"..
