The reason we went to Iraq, supposedly, is WMDs.

WMDs was a (very bad) excuse. Kinda like when we wanted to invade Viet Nam we parked a cruiser off their coast so they'd shoot at it (because they thought we were invading or something) so we could claim there was A VICIOUS ATTACK AGAINST INNOCENT AMERICANS and invade. Bush might as well have gone on record saying he wanted to invade Iraq because Sadam pisses him off, but that wouldn't rally support very well.

The fact that 9/11 would have been a PERFECT excuse to go to war and Bush didn't use it is the most convincing reason as to why 9/11 could NOT have been a big ass conspiracy. Seriously, Bush lies about WMDs and they don't find any, you're angry at Bush. Somebody blows up our buildings and "early intel leads to insurgents in Iraq" and that turns out to be wrong, and you don't really care, cuz we still took care of some bad guys and showed the other bad guys that we mean business. srs biznizz
