90% of getting buff is eating, only 10% is working out, i suggest eating a proper diet and then in your spare time working out, when you actually FEEL motivated, whenever that may be.
Motivation?? use No-Xplode you'll get energy throughout your workout. And eat alot (3 meals/ 3 protein shakes)..doesnt really matter what you eat. take a weight gainer if you can stomach it. lol i don't see why you need ppl online to nag at you to get motivated..that stuff should be taken care of when you're working out. Just get a spot on days you want to max out and actually get a workout plan for yourself. www.bodybuilding.com for cheap products.
it's a straight product...but he's trying to put on some mass...(ddr won't help @_@ btw for animefreak). he should take a weight gainer as a substitute meal and probably finish off the night with a protein shake. I use Muscle Milk at night for a more anabolic sleep time. Or you can use optimum nutrition. take at least 1 g. of protein for every 1lb.
I work out all the time, not on my arms or anything just on my abs, I have a six-pack. I had to cut back on eating alot of the junk food I used to eat. Now I just work out in my spare time whenever I get bored. Just try doing that.

Don't listen to these Debbie Downers. If you need any help feel free to IM me, I have been working out religiously for about a year and a half now.
Here's my summer results (for my compound lifts at least) so far:
Height -- 5'10"
Weight -- Beginning of summer: 150, now: 162
Flat Bench -- Beginning of summer: 165, now: 205
Decline Bench -- Beginning of summer: 155, now: 5 reps of 185 the other day
Squat -- Beginning of summer: 135, now 205
I work out 4 times a week and break my meals up into 6 meals a day, totalling around 3000 calories a day with around my body weight in protein (160 g) and I drink about 160 oz. (my body weight) of water a day. My diet consists of ENTIRELY chicken, turkey, very lean burgers, and casein protein shakes (very slow absorbing protein so you are taking in protein all night long). No junk food, period. I cycle NO-Xplode for one month and creatine ethyl ester the next month, over and over, so my body does not adapt to the supplements or become dependant on them. I highly suggest buying NO-Xplode from www.bodybuilding.com, it will increase your gains 10-fold and is completely safe. Just do your best to lift hard for 2 weeks... chest/tri's/front shoulders one day, back/bi's/upper shoulders one day, legs the last day, and once you start to see results, you'll be MUCH more motivated to go.. aka you'll feel like a piece of **** if you don't go for 3 days. Again feel free to IM me.
EDIT: What reach said is right. I go 4 days a week for 45 min to an hour every time. No more is necessary. Otherwise you are overworking your muscles which can actually cause atrophy. And your muscles need a day between each workout day to actually grow. They don't grow while you're working out, but actually break down. They grow that night and the next 1-2 days. That's why it is important to always be eating a lot. Keep a low-fat diet with high complex carbs (wheat bread) and protein intake.
And what emptiness said is only somewhat right. Protein shakes are good but get old really fast and it's a pain in the ass to clean the shaker bottle 3 times a day. Also you HAVE to eat more than 3 meals a day so your body is always taking in calories. Otherwise, again, atrophy will occur. And yes, it does matter what you eat. Do what I said above. If you take in too much fat you will gain fat, not muscle. Same with carbs. It is better to gain weight slowly the right way than to gain fat along with muscle quickly. I can only gain weight pretty quickly now because I pretty much know exactly what I am doing and can balance my diet correctly, as I have gained 10 pounds in 9 weeks, while losing fat.
One thing I forgot.. LIMIT DRINKING. Getting drunk just one night can dramatically decrease your testosterone levels for TWO weeks. What this means is that you're not gaining any strength during those two weeks. I 90% attribute my huge gains this summer to completely cutting out drinking. Here is a great article about drinking in college: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/mike6.htm
aha...^this guy is good but why cycle the creatine and no-xplode when you can take NO before and Creatine after a workout?? Doesn't make sense really. BTW prolonged use of NO-Xplode will shorten the effects. You should stick with MHP Extreme-NO. But for the most part stlunatic is right.
edit: lol 205 squat?? wtf man you bench that much
and in response to stlunatic's edit: make a commitment to staying away from soda's and alcohol. it won't be easy for awhile but soon you'll be asking for water or tea from now on.
NO-Xplode already has creatine in it. There's no reason to take creatine after your workout as well. Your body only needs so much creatine, as it is also seen in foods. After a certain amount your results from creatine are going to plateau no matter how much you use. That's why creatine ethyl ester is good too. It works better than monohydrate and is used in smaller dosages. CEE also, unlike monohydrate, does not use fat as an energy transport, keeping you from having that bloated feeling. The only studies that have shown detrimental effects from creatine are those in which users either had loading cycles of creatine or just generally used high dosages.
And about the shortening effects, that's why I use NO-Xplode for a month then creatine for a month. So it DOESN'T shorten the effects. In 2 weeks I start NO-X again, and it will shock my system then because I haven't seen it in a month, giving me the same results as three months ago.
I just recently started doing legs in my routine. I have ALWAYS hated doing them but realized I would not get stronger without doing them. So basically I just manned up and started squatting this summer. A 70 pound increase is somewhat dramatic lol, and I'm pretty sure your body naturally tries to stay in proportion. So in my opinion it's a good sign my bench and squat are the same.
yea but you can Stack No-Xplode with Creatine ( like Cellmass) at the same time for better and quicker results. BSN recommends that. But i don't take creatine anymore anyway. No-Xplode by itself is good enough for me. So whatever works for you.
This is what i do by the way (5 day splits):
M-Chest/Abs
T-Glutes, Hams, Calves all leg really
W-Back, L Back, Biceps
T-Triceps, Calves
F-Shoulder, Abs
S-rest
S-rest
I'm getting lazy this summer so i'll be on my regular workout during college
