Actually, that gave me an odd thought... Maybe the internet isn't such a bad device for dating after all? Unless you have pictures of the person your talking to loaded and up at the time you're talking to them, you're not seeing them. It's just thoughts being projected back and forth. What I'm getting at is that people would know if they honestly cared for that other person, not just their looks.

This is just a passing thought, I really haven't fleshed out a full opinion yet.

well, i think that people should be good friends before they take the next step. but, sometimes good friends dating each other doesnt always work out. basically, i think that you should really know that person before you start going out with them.

Exactly. What's the point of going out with someone who is a complete idiot and has no personality just because of their looks? Your priorities should be: Intelligence, Personallity, looks. In that order. Not to say looks don't hurt .

Ok, You are an old fart. I totally know it. Well okay, maybe not an old fart. Regardless, times have changed, pops. I realize 7th and 8th graders it's dumb, but by 9th, 10th grade we do actually have like, hit puberty by now. Not like we're in 4th friggin grade here (like my bro...ugh)

I think its the media's fault, all of it. Channels/corporations/companies like(but not limited to) Disney and Nickelodeon with "stars" like Amanda Bynes, Lizzie Mcguire and Brittney Spears(i know i misspelled atleast one of their names) are the main influence on kids to act wh0rish. All the tight, short clothing they wear, makeup they put on, and all the crap they show on the tv is what is making children and younger teens feel that they need to look "sexy" to be attractive, get a "b/f, g/f" to be cool, and kiss and make out to feel important/older. Sure there are some cool Disney/Pixar movies out, but i truly consider those different and OK to watch.

I'm 17yo, and i didn't get my car till 3 months after i turned 17, and ive liked a few girls before i got my lisence/car and with all that i have experienced, you guys dont need to worry about having a real relationship till you acutally have a job, and a car, but most importantly GOOD GRADES IN SCHOOL. You don't know how frustrating it is when you like someone alot but can't do anything with them without having to rely on a friend that drives or your parents, and believe me, when your 16/17, you do not want to have to rely on your parents to drop you off for a date, it'll give you a really crappy feeling inside. I've been blessed to have recieved a 2001 BMW 323i from my parents once i got my lisence, and i realised when you can drive yourself and significant other around, you just feel alot better about yourself and more independent.

I've been 6, I've been 12, and I've been 15, sorry for all of you that are younger and reading this, but im speaking from experience. Sure, there might be some exceptions about what i say towards acutal mutual feelings for younger people, but i seriously havent come across two younger people that have it.

Sorry for such a long post, and i apologise for being a newb and i hope you all dont consider me to be a n00b, because i KNOW how annoying they are. We have a few over at www.e46fanatics.com, the bmw forum i go to, so i know what to look out for. Heh.

LOVE: THE ULTIMATE WEAKNESS

Why would you want to fall in love? Love is pathetic, painful, and overall not a desired feeling. Love is the after affect of highly advanced compatibility.

People can find the person they will spend the rest of their life with in Junior High or even Elementary, but very rarely can these couples LOVE each other. The largest reason people date at these young ages is because relationships are the norm set by adults and slowly worked down age group by age group.

Another reason that dating is pushed so highly is because of the large amounts of homophobia induced into society in modern times. Males will often "go out" with a girl just to prove his hetero sexuality.

ADVICE: If an attempt at a relationship with one person fails, do not dwell in the same place. Meeting new people means increasing odds of finding someone you are ultimately more compatible with.

I was in Eighth grade, and I got to know her only through our talking on AIM. The first time I ever actually saw her for a long time was a dance (Gasp! DDR!) she asked me to.

Maybe I'm naive, but I'd say falling for someone because of their intellect and personality on the internet seems to be a likely way to find "true love".

And, yeah, we just hit five months, so I can't really speak from experience for sounding naive, but I felt I could elaborate on earlier points of dating through the internet.

Sometimes we humans do have to fight our natural urges. For example humans are naturally curious, but if we acted on everything blank-mindedly we probably wouldn't live too long. Same goes for "Love" you have to be cautious and smart about it.
Love is such a weakness you should always be number one in your life but love makes you feel as though you need to give your life to save that of the ONE that you love.
