If all you guys are sick of the n00bs, then close up the borders now and spare yourselves more n00bs. Make it so no one else can join unless they are invited by an existing member. Ofcourse, then you would have to delete my account. So as you can see this idea is suicide for me. Pick through the annoying people you hate (This is for Moderators and Administrators) and delete their accounts. Don't allow anyone to sign up, just log in. Then if someone you know wants to join and they're really cool, invite them to a secret Sign Up page. If you guys are really that sick of n00bs then just make FFR a private site.

Then everyone who were invited to join would be cool because only the cool kids are left and only the cool kids will invite other cool kids.

So, there, problem solved. Just a suggestion.

I don't think so.
We want to shut off the forums, not the whole site in general. My idea is this, let them post in n00b forum Chit Chat, and the Submissions forum. Then if we decide that they're cool enough, give them CT and Media and GB and stuff. You can pretty much do this whole Permission thing the same way you get let into the TWG forum.

Yeah that could work to but with about 500,000 users and all wanting to post will be very annoying to keep updating their privledges. Even if about 40% of the users don't post in the forums the other 60% will be very angry will their privledges and it will be a very hard job for the mods and admins.

So, it should be a privledge to even play FFR. Plus, how do we know they aren't a n00b if they just submit to the forums and we have no idea who they are. We would have to open the n00b forums and chit chat(like you said) and let them post there and then give them privledges for other forums. Which leads to my first paragraph about a very hard job. So inviting people would be easier.

The percentage of people who post on the forums compared to the registered users who don't is a LOT lower than 60%. Most of the idiots who have posted just come in thinking they're hot stuff, say a couple stupid things, get mocked, and go back to spamming the multiplayer chat.

About that whole idea, no, end of story, FFR would be a complete wasteland, and i'm sure Synth and co. don't feel like making 3rd style so a pitiful number of people would play it. I definitely would not have joined if i had had to go through all that garbage just to play the damn game.

He's just trying to make a point. He's saying that FFR can't function without the presence of newcomers. While this is true, he's using this point to try to say something else that's not true: that newbies shouldn't be flamed, shouldn't be criticized for making stupid posts, and so on. Lightknight, we're trying to correct what we're doing, not kick you off the site. Just make an effort.

Or maybe I just missed the point. Maybe this is just a really bad but honest suggestion.

If you want to end the whole stereotyping thing about the newcomers, you'd better stop with the stereotyping about elitists. Not all elitists make fun of newcomers, just people that need to be set straight and can't catch on to a simple concept.

Whatever has needed to be said already has. So I'll pput in my views.
1. Making fun of newcomers is wrong unless they do something incredibly stupid.
2. Just because they do not have a lot of posts does not mean they have a valid point.
3. FFR elitist is an oxymoron, we're all dorks sitting by our computers and trying to be cool in a virtual environment.

Okay, the term Elitist means they don't like newcomers. The term n00b means many things. I can't point out the elitists on FFR, but I can sure say there is some elitist in everyone here. So this topic refering to anyone who feels like we need to hold back on the people joining and stabilize ourselves first. FFR started off a tad slow(from what I know). Next thing FFR new it was the new DDR-For-Your-Fingers website. Now with about 500,000 users + we have loads of spamming and jerks on the site. Plus the n00bs, people that are newcomers that no one likes. So maybe if we close the borders, for about a month(seems impossible don't it.....) and get all the forums ready we can open them and FFR will be as good as new. I'm not saying when this would have to happen. Just saying it should.

Ps. I'm banned from the Garbage Bin and this Forum is just about dead anyhow.
