I hope Tokzic never gets invited to a wedding. There are times (like when you don't know the full situation, which no one did) that you should simply be supportive, and keep your negative concerns to yourself. Some self-restraint. Yeah, it's a forum, so I shouldn't get my hopes up.
Tokzic, read Stretchy's post above yours and tell me she isn't trying to convince her. I just think she's obviously made her mind up, and it IS the time to filter through your impulses, and just say something encouraging.
Stretchy, I have friends and family who have gotten married that young, and all the ones I can think of are still married. Quit dealing with absolutes. People can start in the same situation and have things turn out differently. Just because you know someone who did something and something concluded from that DOES NOT mean the same will happen with Sera. In fact it sounds like she has most of this thought out, and seems to be in control.
And Guido, my PS wasn't worded right. I didn't mean "we" as in me and you, but our culture. Also, given the current affairs of things, I'd say that marriage is doing a pretty good job of insulting itself. I don't mean to say that you or I will begin to think less of it, but I think it's inevitable that society eventually will start to think less of it. And I think it already has.
