Yeah i figured i woudl get alot of "you guys are so young" type of things, to clear it up for those who dont know, i am indeed 16 and he is 19. However, we have decided (me him and both our famlies) this is the best thing for us at the time, even if it doesnt work out in the end this is the most benficial thing we coudl do for all parties involved. daniel will be much happier, as will i. Nothing between him and i will change being as it i only sleep at my house anyway, my family will be happier and perhaps it wil even slavage my parents marriage. In the over all everyone had agreed this is what needs to be done. I agree, i really hope i will make everything work as best i can, and i know i have a long road ahead of me, however i am willing to work my ass off and not let anything stop me. You know, it might not work out in the end but i really believe this is the right move to make.

Actually, in certain states, at the age of 16, if there is parents permission, it's ok. Not sure if that applies to pedo though.

Well, it varies per state, it's not always just like that.

In Colorado, for example, it's different.
13-14 years old; within 4 years
15-16 years old; within 10 years.

Or something like that.

Uh, seriously.. congratulations and all, but you kind of sound like you're trying to convince yourself that this is a good idea.

I mean, I realize I don't know you or anything, but getting married to "save your parents' marriage" is not a good reason to get married. Marriage is like, commitment x 1000, and you're only 16. If you need to get away from a family situation, get help. I'm sure you're in love, but if that's the case, you can wait another 10 years to get married no problem, but making that huge commitment at such a young age is like giving up your livelihood.

After rereading my post, I have to comment again.

I really do wish you the best of luck, but I fear that this is only a move for the worst. It may save your parents and it may get you away from your dad, but hey, those are two externalities that really shouldn't be stressed. What should be stressed is that you feel that Daniel is, in fact, they guy you want to spend the rest of your life with. If you really have that, I'm ecstatic for you. However, it sounds a lot like you're doing it fast to please others. My Uncle got married, ended up with 4 degrees he didn't want or need, and ended up getting divorced and because of the divorce kicked out of half the family he was supposed to be able to keep. Now he's a single dad about to join the AARP with a son who has very strong Asperger's Syndrome.

Don't do it if someone else's interests are higher than your own.

But I guess it's too late to be giving advice. I'm happy for you and I wish you the best of luck. Maybe I will send flowers after all.
