1. It's made by Macintosh- NO.
2. I HATE the idea of taking old things, and making them wave worthy. Hence, the idea of overpricing.
3. I cherish my CD collection.
And last, ? When the hell are you going to listen to 1,000 songs? For a dollar a piece it's a shitty deal anyways, unless of course you steal.

Also folders are replaced with ITunes folders that they make, making everything worse.

And that is all that needs to be said boys and girls.

iPod = bigger, stronger, faster, harder... 20 or 40 gigs of storage. iPod mini = smaller, uglier, easier to lose, holds less. Same cost as a 20 gig. iPod Nano = even smaller, ugliest, easiest to lose, holdes practically nothing. Same cost as a 20. iPod Shuffle = I'm too broke to join the real trend, so let me get this tiny POS instead.

I'll stick to my 40 gig iPod, thanks. Since I have almost 40 gigs worth of music.

And to Skooter.... seriously, who pays for music downloads? I have 400 real CDs that I can legally turn into mp3s. Of those 400, I'd say about 150 of them (maybe more) I do have complete on mp3 on my computer. Then I have another 250 of "illegal" albums on my computer. All free, thanks to the powers of the internet. And a small thanks to PepsiCo.

Plus, the argument that "you can never listen to 1000 songs! Why do you need so much?!?" Well... from a recent example, I was driving to Atlantic City with a good friend who happens to love crappy music (Coldplay). Our ride to and fro consisted of listening to X&Y 4 times. I was not happy. Had he had a CD changer or an iPod, we could have at least listened to ALL of Coldplay's stuff, instead of the same album over and over. The key is variety.

I'll be walking to class... sometimes I want Metallica. Sometimes I'm in a Nirvana mood. Other times in Bond. Sometimes Classical. Etc, etc, etc. With having thousands of songs to choose from, not only can I get whatever band/genre I'm in the mood for, but I have a large variety of music within that selection to listen to. That and its cheaper to buy 1 iPod than to buy 20 CDs, assuming you can get free mp3s. Not to mention CD players skip, holding multiple CDs for variety is bulky, and the CD player itself is bulky... I see no reasons to value ones CD player over an iPod or other mp3 device.

Its like those people who won't get rid of their VCRs. DVDs are the new thing... out with the old, in with the new. Victrolas, then Records, then Cassettes, then CDs.... now mp3s. Gotta love technology.

I swore off iPods after I had to reformat mine for the fourth time.

Then I saw the nano.

If it came in a larger than 4 GB flavor, I might have to get one.

I'm such a product whore.

See, I'm not looking to carry my entire music collection with me. Just the really good songs. That's about 6 gigs of awesome stuff. I think I can live with cutting 2 gigs off for the sake of having a really tiny (and therefore cool. We all know in the electronics world small=cool) iPod with a screen. That and it's probably cheaper. I like cheap.
