I bet none of you knew, but I am a HUGE advocate for widescreen.
Flipmaster is correct. Movies are AND HAVE ALWAYS BEEN made in widescreen format. They had to reformat things for tapes in a process known as "Pan and Scan", which means they cannot show the entire picture the way they intended as it is too wide, so they have to pan the image over.
You want to know why widescreen owns fullscreen so much?
