    1. I never met my Uncle Bob. Not an effect.

    2. I only stated that I am not close to anyone with it. Until I am, it doesn't efffect me.

    3. As for cynicism, it may not always be correct, and it's definately not always right, but it's very much a healthy thing to practice. Especially in a world full of moral filled dults and dumbasses

      Agreed with number 3.

But unfortunately for you, you used it when it was largely wrong. Oh, well.

It doesn't matter if you agree or not. It's what I think. Sure, it's callous, but that's life.

I'm not in danger of the 2nd leading cause of death in the country so why should I care? That's the worst view I have ever seen. Just to let you know, one out of every 2 men form some type of cancer in their lifetime. Jackass.

              1. That doesn't mean I or anyone I know will get it. My Uncle Bob is the only person I have ever met with the disease.

2.What, do you want me to spend money on something that I won't benefit from at all? Even a feeling of "you did the right thing"? Do you want me to put seconds, minutes, hours, and days of my life over a risk that my family has as predisposition to avoid? Honestly, I wouldn't want you to do that for me if you didn't know me.

I have one, but yes i agree that it probably goes to the manufacture who i heard nike makes, so im sure there pretty happy with there success. They probably only donate like 33 cents of it to cancer, seeing as there too greedy to donate most of it, but it does help people, mabey not physically, but mentaly, seeing the support their getting, so it's a nice thing to do. Better then buying some useless watergun you can get at the dollar store for the same price.

To comment on what Q said, that's whats wrong with todays society, they only care about what happens to them and the people around them, and saying the whole if it doesnt affect me or anyone i know why should i care speech is very selfish. But that's your opinion and i respect that, i just feel differently.

But Q is absolutely right. It's a fashion fad that will be over soon. It's very unlikely that people will still be wearing these bracelets after it becomes uncool to do so. (this goes to Tps) The REAL problem with our society is people giving in to silly trends that COULD have some kind of meaning, but not really understanding or caring about that meaning. They are wearing those bracelets because everyone else is wearing one.

You've all admitted that most of the cost of the bracelet will not go toward the cause it supports, so don't let it continue! Donate real money DIRECTLY to a cancer treatment center. Donate your hair to Locks for Love. Volunteer at a hospital. Join a support group. We shouldn't have to show off our good deeds and intentions -- they should just be there.

i see what u mean panda. It is a fashion trend, and most people just buy them because everyone else has one. your right on how you shouldn't need a bracelet to shown u done something, beacuse thatwould bring prasie, which u don't ask for, it should go down as a good random deed, or else it wasn't good at all. Good point

No, it was a good deed, it was one that was intended for personal benefit. I'm all for personal benefit. I just don't agree with hypocrites. If you claim to believe in it, believe in it past it's time.

"But I needed support to show my beliefs." Did you read the posts that I just got flamed for? Those are my beliefs. I stood up for them on my own, I'm sure you can to. When you do, I'm sure more than two people will be acceptive of them, too.

And guys, next time I post something, could you not jump on my morals and instead stay on the intended message? It keeps the discussion on topic, which we totally hijacked for around a page.

Don't be a fucking prick just because you don't like trends Q. The LiveStrong is a good cause. I don't have a band, but I support the people who wear them. I think it's awesome that so many people have gotten them. It may be a trend or a fad. Who cares? It's going to a good cause.

Mind your words before you blindly open your mouth to the wrong person and they beat the shit out of you for it.

To recap what we covered and you repeated without any use:

1.Not much money goes to the actual cause. It's being capitalized.
2.The people who wear them are doing it to be cool. That doesn't mean they support the cause at all.
                            3. I care, as well as many other people.

This is not because I don't like trends. This is because I don't like hypocritical trends. I rather enjoy trends, especially when they benefit me enough that I can capitalize on it's existance.

                              1. Where did you get this information?
                              2. Who cares? Maybe lately they have been, but so what? It's supporting a good cause.
                              3. Riiiight...

You're being selfish. You're bashing a good thing because of your viewpoints on trends. It's disrespectful to all those who wear them solely to show support for the fight against cancer.

I can see your viewpoint, because capitalism drove the sale of flags after 9/11. That was wrong. When the flags supported good causes, that was fine. Support is good whether it's through trend or not. Trends can be a wonderful thing.

Bandit, Nike makes the wristbands, Lance Armstrong endorses them.

SOMEONE has to pay those people.

It's just a given that only a small percentage of the money from each wristband is going toward any kind of cancer research.
