Well, REAL punk is nearly gone. But cheesy and shitty pop punk created by the posers known as Blink 182 is thriving quite well. Fuck Blink. They're posers. Metal rules, go metallica, I have spoken.
Cool my first post on the FFR forums.Comment

There hasn't been any music made since the early eighties which is easily classifiable as punk. Anything made recently fits into such catagories of emo, pop-punk, ska, and many others. Therefore, punk as a genre is dead. However, there are still people living the punk lifestyle as well as people imitating the punk lifestyle (ie poseurs). So, in closing, punk as genre=dead, punk as lifestyle=alive.
oh yea...
Music can die... do you see people making a living off of du-wop anymore?Originally posted by KenzyaLike I said before.. Music can't die..

Rock on. I never really ever listen to Punk, so I don't follow it's status. Dead ot not, I couldn't care less.Originally posted by SMMAX2FREAKWell, REAL punk is nearly gone. I don't listen to it much either. I always have Metallica and AC/DC live and such blasting on my stereo. If anyone thinks that Blink 182 is a serious punk band, I want those people to suck my balls or listen to some better band like Led Zeppelin or Metallica.Originally posted by CypherToorimaRock on. Think of it this way. Punk was dead and buried. But these new punk bands come by and dig up the coffin in which is lies, pull down their pants, and spray the rotting corpse with their hot, steamy fecal matter, hoping to breath life into an old fad. But instead, they ruin the image that once was punk. They ruin the scene, the music, the style, everything that made Punk "Punk." All ruined by these god damn teeny-twits with their 89 dollar plaid shorts full of holes and zippers and 30 dollar Ramones T-Shirt they got at the damn Hot Topic.Comment

Y'know, Jewpin is right. Punk in the 80's (I think it was the 80s) was alot better, and much different then Punk now. Punk now just sucks. It's a bunch of posers trying to look like they're punk. Sort of reminds me of some child living in a two story house who tries to act like he's from the streets just because he listens to G-Unit, only punk, not rap, and these are nineteen-twenty whatever years old.
So, punk is dead, and the stuff right now is it's brother that was kept in the attic.I'm a figantic gaggotComment
