Trying to kill yourself especially when you have a daughter to support = very not cool.
Admitting that you did that (when you didn't have to admit it) = very cool.

Cut him some slack, guys. I mean he could have just not told you that information and you'd all be praising him and giving him your sympathy. It was the braver thing to do to admit what he had done (although it was a cowardly thing to have tried).

I still often have bad dreams about the girl I was with for 3+ years that went left a couple years ago.

I used to have that problem with my ex. We lasted almost 4 years and the break up tore me apart.
I would dream about her daily and it drew me insane(more than I already was).
But it has all passed. Everything is way better now, and I'm so fxcking glad she left me.(maybe not the way she did though cause that shit was rough)
We are also very very good friends now and she actually finally realized how good of a bf/friend I was and does anything to help me now.(kinda)

anyways, moral is, everything works out.
and whatever doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.. maybe too strong

Maybe, but unfortunately I don't think I even have the capacity to be emotionally attached to someone else like that anymore. I wouldn't call becoming more emotionally detached strength though.

Years later I'm still having issues over this. I wouldn't do such a thing as leave someone you've been with every moment of every day for years with no explanation then move across the country and then never speak to you again to my worst enemy.

I'd rather she just flat out told me she hated me, but I guess I'll never know.

if there is a lesson to be learned from this, it's be careful of who you date/fornicate with in the first place, because this is what happens when mommy leaves the picture and daddy still has a boner for women who aren't willing to put up the responsibility required of a relationship with runescapedude and his daughter.

and i'm not casting judgment on you as a father, because the mom could have kicked the bucket or something and you thought you were finally ready to ~love again.~ but if the mother left you and the daughter behind, and this is what happens with a girl you got engaged with, maybe you should reassess your tastes in women.
