I hate the notifications. Every few days I log in, the wife see's that I have 30+ notifications from people. She thinks I am nuts cos I just double click the notifications button so they disappear. Message me if you want to chat to me, no-one wants to see "omfg yesterday was the best, what are you up to on friday?" or something equally pointless followed by an even more retarded conversation splayed across the top of my wall :L
Basically, chicks post sexual pictures of themselves (and we're talking 8th graders here) then state "I'm so ugly" while fishing for compliments about their breasts.
In other words, everything everyone else has already said.
That, and the assholes who talk about their abs with photoshop (luckily Facebook doesn't allow pictures of penises)
Everything.
I haven't had a facebook for the last 13 months because I hate everything about social networking.
I only rarely use Aim Express.

As much as you hate the facebook twats who need to get real, you'll learn to filter through it. I used to get angry about the same kind of stuff, but I just found friends who were real and didn't give a damn about all of that. You'll get through it, ohaider.
Kk now back on topic, what are things you hate about social networking?
This thread is mostly about online social networking, I mean keeping a list of phone numbers and calling people and keeping in touch with people is still considered social networking and it's crucial, in both the academic and job-seeking world to have good networking skills and to build a network of people you can trust and contact.
Facebook is just one of the few methods that people use to get their daily dose of "social networking." In a way, it's pretty much an online bulletin board for you and your friends to see. It's a fun and easy way to share stuff like your thoughts and experiences with people when you don't feel like telling a whole bunch of people individually. It's just the way people use this bulletin board so to speak that makes the experience for some frustrating and not fun. First of all, if you have a million "friends" on facebook and you are always mad about seeing stuff from people you hardly know, well that's completely your fault; Facebook gives you control of who you are sharing your "bulletin board" with and it's your fault if you allow people to post on that bulletin board if you don't want to see their posts in the first place.
And if you see people posting irritating stuff, it's their fault to blame, not Facebook's, Facebook simply gives people the tools and technology to do certain things, it's up to the people that use those tools and technology to decide what stupid shit they do with it. For example, if there was an ACTUAL bulletin board and someone covered the whole thing with a million copies of an ad for a product that doesn't interest you; it'd make more sense to be angry towards the person that put up those ads, not the person that made or put up the bulletin board.
Pretty much, Facebook can be a fun and rewarding experience you know how to use it right and if you add only the people you care about.
Though the main difference is that Myspace/Facebook are first and formost a social (help me find a better word) site.
FFR is a gaming site, which has forums.
