with France your guys hardly ever die. Chinese is really good though. it was the first nation i played with, and i liked it pretty well. being able to instantly make 10 citizens does make for some quick expansion, but thats the only benefit, really.

my fav thing to do is capture their cities and rename them to stuff like "YOU SUCK!" and "You Ain't Getting This One Back"

oh, and i just tried playing on infinite resources mode and starting with all technologies. holy crap, guys, it's nuts
So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(

In less-depressing news, I got a job for an online business (which sells non-electronic games, of all things!) which has taught me a lot about marketing online and all that jazz.

So now I'm on Twitter @NoahWright.
And I write the blog for their website.

Plus I do cool programming in-house that you'll never see. =O

Infinite resources beginning with Ancient is fun too. All you need is to research civics right off the bat and queue up the rest. Move all citizens to a location semi-far away and once civics completes, build a new city. Then the library and a temple. Make sure you raze the buildings you start with (leave 1 tower) because they are useless.

      Towers add to attrition damage.
      Temples increase borders.
      More libraries = faster research.

Also, turn off nukes. It just gets annoying and once their missle shield is up it becomes useless.

The best part is researching "Instant Units". Put tanks on infinite loop and RUN THEM DOWN.

only problem is u can only select so many people. i had inf. loops with tanks and i could only select some of them. i'd double click the military select thing and most of them wouldnt be selected. it got annoying so i stopped doing it.

also, have u played with the rush rule set to no attacking? how the hell does that work!?

oh, and i believe the instant units upgrade is called Artificial Intelligence. not sure, tho

Just let them free roam and they'll be fine. That's basically what I do with my starting armies in Conquest missions now. Just let them roam. If one dies, it's completely unimportant. What matters more is my economy (IE: Exploration bonuses and rare resources.)

Without attacking you have to set a win somehow. Territory victory, Wonder victory, or my favorite, Peaceful Tech Race. Territory is obvious. Wonder victory is when you have a set number of wonder points and hold that number for a set time. Peaceful Tech races are unattacking research races (turn off infinite resources...)

(More screenshots to come, I promise)

          Edit - More screenshots below.

Things to note on Screenshot - If you notice the Turns number you can see just how simple this was. I think you get a total of 24 turns to try to win. I took 18.

Another note is that I did this in less than 6 hours. I swear if I'd have known the proper way to win these missions I could do it in less than 3. After about the first 10 battles I figured it out. I won one battle in 3:20!

So for this conquest I played as the Chinese. I started by taking the Mongolian Capital. It took 2 turns to get to Korea, then I think another 1 or 2 to get Japan. After than I set sights west to India and finished them off after a battle or two. It took a while to spread farther west, but I soon took out the Russians and then the Egyptians. The gameplay was getting weird here but it turned out in my favor when Britain took out the number 3 guy who held a bunch of territory.. here's how it was.

The Incas had all of South America and the Mayans have all of North America. Britain has all of Europe and most of Africa (I hold the NE). I swept up through the north of England straight to Britain and captured their capital in 3 turns. By the time I got there Britain had moved right into the Inca territory and taken their capital, so I got all of the Inca land as well. South America was one space away from the Mayan capital in Central America and I just happened to have a supply center right next to it. After getting the British armies placed I took out the Mayans and the entire world.

          ~Squeek

PS - EB, AIM or MSN me through the links in my sig. I want to send you the save file of my final victory with the Chinese. I played 17 cards for absolutely no reason.

Apologies for the double post. It was necessary to bump the thread with new pictures. Editing doesn't bump.

So after hearing Evilbutterfly say that beating the game as the French was easy I decided to try it out for myself. Here's the result.

Things to note? I never even got to the Modern Age.
I won almost every single battle in less than 5 minutes. One was finished in 2:30. Two of them were Navy missions and I had to actually do stuff to win. Stupid British capital being on an island...
I almost doubled the Nations Defeated count. France is in the best place to take capitals as quick as possible. Britain is one up, Spain is one SW, and Italy is one SE. The rest are really short distances away.

My final turn was awesome. I had just taken America from whomever had it (it wasn't the Americans.) and had up to Mexico. I couldn't quite reach the capital territory of the final nation so I decided to see what cards I could buy. 2,400 tribute later I have 7 Eureka cards, 3 Sabotage, and one (insert name here) that causes a territory to be instantly captured when its defense is 4 or less. That enabled me to move my new army right into that territory and attack the capital with full research going into the fight. I also played 3 Mercenary cards and had Versailles. I THINK I WON.

Ah, the beauty of Teamwork....Well, it didn't exactly capture the teamwork that well, but you should know that generally multiple marines = teamwork. We pwned that hive so much, despite the sincere efforts of the shown Skulk.

See what I mean, Squeek? France owns all

I suck at NS (usually). For a day or two there I was really awesome, but then I started sucking again. Haven't played in a while, though. I may have to try again some time

omg... I post picture of THUG.

New Jersey. notice 7,271,240. I've done better but this was in career mode, so the only way I could record the score was to photograph it. And well, I'm bored and I don't feel like working on my dwis like I should, so I decided to post this screen. Also, sorry about the glare.

Alright, time for some ownage UT shots.

*Mods used: Akimbo Arena, Gibalicious v.7, UT2003 Weapons*

This shot is absolutely amazing. This split second shot got me a face full of blood when the guy was hit by double flak cannons. You can see his body flailing through the haze.

In this Torlan map, I grabbed this shot just as a hellbender exploded right in front of me. Look at the detail of that explosion, beautiful shot.

This one gives you a taste of true UT insanity. Wielding duel miniguns, with bullets hitting me in the face and rockets streaking overhead, shells flying everywhere, it represents the true spirit of the game.

Well a lot of it is luck, but here's two tips.

1: Learn how to use speed mods. The console command "slomo .1" is your friend. It'll slow everything way down, then just snap a bunch of screenshots right before something cool happesn and during it, and you can pick the one you like best.
2: Bind your screenshot key to something near your finger (I use Q, I never use the translocator). This is very useful because you can grab those split second shots.
