Then again I know a woman who didn't know where Henesys Hunting Ground was, and she's a legit 12x ice/lit mage. Also she doesn't know what most skills are of other classes.... >.> Like come on........

Ok, I know what POISON mist is.. I was confused because he was talking about 4th job skills and then said Mist was the best, so I thought Mist was some 4th job skill >_>

Because arrows totally cost 1 whole meso. And you find them in bunches of 20. You TOTALLY need funding for an archer... The only funding you might need is for an att wg but you are too low leveled and probably too poor to afford one anyways. Well, not very much hw today, so I'll play some today. I really want to play jms though... SOMEONE GO PLAY WITH ME =(

I was just wondering are there specific builds for fire/poison class? I was reading EB's post about poison mist and thought that was cool, what stats/skills should I get?

1st job is same everybody else. Max MG and Max MP Increase and do whatever the hell else you want.

2nd job is pretty simple. First point in MP Eater (not teleport. Level 1 teleport (especially in your 30s) is a giant waste of money. If you get it, you WILL use it. I didn't get teleport until I was 40, because I knew I wouldn't be able to resist using it and because, since I shouldn't've been using it anyway, I was better off not getting it) because it will save you so much money for just 1 point. Max Fire Arrow immediately afterwards. At this point you have options. Basically, in 2nd job, you will max everything but Poison Brace (since Mist is a better times infinity and poison isn't THAT useful in 2nd job, and Slow is too useful to give up), it's just the order that varies between builds. Definitely get Slow dead last, though. You can put 11 points in Brace (you'll have that many leftover if you get Slow instead), but I put it into Magic Armor, because honestly, level 11 Brace is useless.

In 3rd job, there are more variations. Stupidest thing you can do is get compo first (will explain later). It's pretty common to go explosion first. If you do that, a lot of people will tell you that you need to get 11 booster asap (cuz explo is VERY slow), but I think getting a significant level of amp will help more in your average damage. You could, however, go Poison Mist first and train on the highest level thing you can hit AT ALL. Mist will poison monsters regardless of whether you can hit the monsters or not. Max poison can bring a monster to 1 hp whether you can hit it or not. As soon as you can hit them at all, you can kill that last 1 hp. Honestly, even if you go mist first, I would stop at 25-28. At 25 (where mine is right now), you do 75% HP damage MINIMUM after the full 36 seconds. If the monster gets repoisoned by the cloud before the duration is over so the total duration adds up to over ~40 seconds (aka: almost always) it can easily do 100% hp damage. Level 30 mist will ALWAYS do 100% hp dmg if the monster is poisoned, and I think 28 will do very close (high 90s, judging by the growth mist has shown so far). If you're curious, I could post my chart of damages for mist.

Anywho, the reason why Composition is really retarded. Composition has 2 elements, so instead of getting 1.5x as much damage for things weak to an element, it only gets a 1.25x booster. FA gets the full 1.5x boost against fire-weak things. Currently, there are no monsters weak to both fire and poison in GMS, meaning Compo will never get a 1.5x boost in damage. But just to compare, here are some quackulations of the equivalent Spell Attack of each:

Note: Nothing in GMS is weak to both, and anything strong against both (rare but there are some) will take more damage from claw. Also note: if something is weak to poison but resists fire (some Aquaroad monsters are like this) it's the same as if the monster was neutral for compo.

Anywho, as you can see, the only big advantage compo has is over neutral monsters and fire-resisting monsters. You won't be fighting neutral monsters much (just bosses, and you'll still get vastly outdamaged by any non-mage class on these), and the only time you might fight fire-strong monsters are in viking parties or in Aquaroad, but mist and explosion are both infinitely more useful there (since you can poison mobs and take them all out at once).

Anywho, if you're wanting lots of damage and that's why you may want compo, consider this. Maxing amp = 35% more damage. Maxing compo = 25% more matk vs neutrals monsters, 4.167% more damage vs fire-weak monsters, 40.625% dmg increase vs fire-strong things (compo's 112.5 vs claw's 80, but as I said, mist will still do way more damage). Amp is more damage almost always, especially in the case of fire-weak things (it'll be like fire arrow's spell attack went from 120 to 162 when you max amp).

If I may input something about 3rd job fire:

I'd say first point in explosion just for it's AoE goodness that as a fire mage, you'll never have gotten before. After that, I'd say do mist for SUPER FAST OMG LEVELING. Probably WAY more costly meso-wise than explosion, but also WAY faster too.

And, if you only use explosion in rare instances (such as finishing off a mob that is nearly dead from poison), you won't even need to worry about booster/etc.
