Servebot is great. I think that was his name, I don't remember. That little lego guy? Heh, I usually played with servebot, psylocke, and hayato/cable. Cable is annoyingly cheap, especially his supers and his long range. Hayato was the one who usually caused damage, servebot and psylocke switched on and off hahaha. Servebot is just annoying and hilarious to use. I was never really good though so it doesn't really matter how strong the people are but how much fun they are to use to annoy your opponent =) Heh, like peach in SSBM.

Yeah, you're right, Servebot is freaking annoying, i can't stand when i play someone with him. My best team is Ken, Psylocke and Jin (no one is seeing this team, no one...) but just trying to fight that tiny pest is a pain. haha, but it doesn't stop me.

He was fun to play on Gamma type, since his hyper combo in that form (not Serving Line) did insane amounts of ping. It took my friends a good while to learn that you WANTED to get hit by that move since it did less damage that way.

Pretty much the same way you do it in all the other games.

Or: Jab, Jab, forward (as in, toward the opponent), Short, Fierce.

LP, LP, Forward, LK, HP for the slow.

P.S. Raging Dan is that done backward, and a hundred times as awesome/hilarious/self-damaging.

P.P.S. One of Anakaris's hyper combos is the same as a Raging Demon, but isn't nearly as cool/unblockable.

I'm going to try this next time I go the arcade. I hope this is as cool as it is in my head.

I don't understand Gambit. I can work most any character in the game, but I can't even pull off a simple air combo with him.

If I remember correctly, trying a LP, LK, MP, MK, HP/HK air combo doesn't work properly, and the finisher whiffs. I don't use Gambit much, I consider him mediocre.

I may have screwed up that Plasma Combo, magister. It's been a while and I was trying to record it from memory. It ends with Hayato stabbing the opponent. It's designed to be followed by another LP, which would cause him to do a front flip and slash the guy as he fell to the ground, but if you don't use that last LP, the guy'll still fly up which allows you to dash in and OTG him.

The hardest part, though, is making sure pull off the Black Hayato Special quickly enough so that your first sword strike doesn't allow the opponent to block.

another cool team that i once used was, Jill, Cable and Storm, i think their triple special just about destroyed the hell out of anyone. mainly using Jill and storm to rack up a good air combo. and man....playing at the arcade is one of the hardest things ive ever done.

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is the only fighting game where good American players are better than good Japanese players. This is due to a number of factors... first, the Marvel aspect doesn't appeal to the average Japanese gamer. Secondly, the gameplay is really combo-based and full of GIGANTIC BUTTON COMBOS that nobody in Japan felt like memorizing. Thirdly, everybody was too busy playing other games...

You see, in Japan, everyone is much closer in skill level to the top guys simply because Japan is really small compared to America. You can hop on a train and instantly be in a region with the top players. Everyone watches and imitates the top guys, so everyone tends to be at a much higher level of play than in America. You can just have a quick, casual match on the street corner and see some extremely high-level play compared to what your average American fighting game player is used to.

Man, Japan rules.

No, no, it's really not. I'd say the gameplay is more team-based. Anyone can combo up a storm with Magneto, but those people will still get crushed by anyone who knows how to effectively work their assists into their game.

Also: I like how you can speak for an entire country and their wishes regarding combo memorization. Your first point made sense; this one doesn't.

Hmm...lemme think. My best team would be: Sakura with expansion assist, Ruby Heart with Capture assist, and Jin with expansion assist. Although this was my best team back then when I played on my DreamCast...which I still have XD.

Ruby Heart's a pretty slick character; I wish I knew how to really play her well.

She's one of the few really developed Capcom characters in the game.

Dreamcast huh? wow, it's been a minute since i've heard that name before. haha, Sakura was never someone i could get into. Unless you put her in that Rage mode she gets into, aside from that, she's no good to me.

Whoever made the comment about the DC acted as if keeping the second greatest video gaming system to ever exist was something special.

There is no way I'll ever get rid of mine, despite the fact that playing MvC2 on the DC is completely incomparable to playing at the arcade.
