I can't believe what I played when I got this pack. Half of the stuff in here is so technical that it's not even worth playing. howdnbshudbestepped? I'll pass. Joke files? Why are they even in here? Whoever put this together might as well had left them out because they take up space.
The primary objective of a pack, nay, a simfile itself, is to provide fun for the players. I'm not having fun if all I'm doing is one-handed mashing to songs like Mountain of Faith and Counter Clockwise Chant Pattern. A lot of these songs are great! Songs such as Buzzards and Golden Cross have great beats, but unfortunately the steps that go with them are beyond ridiculous. My D grade for Buzzards didn't even register because I got under 50% on it (49.72%, if I recall).
I must say, though, that Kommisar did a great job on his files. At least those are playable and a lot of them (like Elysium and Retard Drums v2) are actually enjoyable. Kudos to him. Most of the rest of the songs on this pack, though, are disappointing.
In short, this pack sucks. Of course, the majority of these songs aren't meant for one-handers like myself to pass, but nonetheless, they're ridiculous.
If you suck ass at sm, it doesnt mean the file is overstepped, it means you really suck at sm
Elysium is bad. Good song though, thanks kommi <3
Golden Cross is not ridiculous. I can AA it without much difficulty, and hell, I suck at sm. These files are not all overtechnical (well, npv is the technicality nazi).
Amber Shores is a joke file yes. This is another situation where if you don't like the file, THEN DON'T PLAY IT kthx
etc

ps howdnbshudbestepped is a joke file that said
you should be careful not to conflate 'I can score well on this file' with 'this is a good file'. A file can be amazingly stepped yet way too hard for player X or too easy for player Y but it's still a good file regardless of this.
some people actually recommend learning multiple styles of playing stepmania simply so you can enjoy a wider range of simfiles by switching to a style more appropriate to that file's difficulty level and patterns.
