If you don't know how to use Notepad you certainly aren't going to be able to make a good sim anyway so just give up

If you don't want to use goldwave (or if you run Linux) you could always try Audacity. It's worked perfectly for me, and runs on Mac, Linux and Windows. It's free and open-sorce.

Also, notepad sucks. If you want to do any international characters you're going to need to save the file in UTF-8 format, which notepad doesn't do. Use BabelPad. It's also free.

When you click "Save As..." in notepad, there should be a dropdown menu where it says "Save as type:". Just Click it and there should be an option for "All Files". Click that, and tack on ".dwi" to the end of your filename (remember to get rid of the .txt that notepad usually puts there!)

Sometimes you have to do this, sometimes you don't, I'm not sure. Better safe than sorry, though. It might mess up the file if you put .dwi at the end of your filename while it tries to "Save as type: .txt"

                          That's all. Any more questions?

ya i have worldbook notepad is that diff from the notepad ur talkin bout. and when i save the file as ".dwi" it says it cannot extend so u have to put ".wbn" and everytime i remove it, it always appears back so i was wonderin if it's still good enough to make simfiles with the .wbn

Use Winbpm. Search for it on google.

Also, whenever I make a song, the files within the folder always say .sm.old. I was wondering if it's because I use SM 3.9 to edit my songs...I'm not sure. Tass got pissed when I sent him 2 songs where the files within the folder had .sm.old names. Any idea on how to fix this?
