From what I remember on ddr it was always attack, but that really doesn't make sense when you are applying that to PA or GA. Really it just means a good amount of whatever your talking amount. Since you want more marvelouses instead of perfects, good MA is lots of marevelouses and good PA is a good amount of perfects relative to greats.
Or your MA implies that you have a low amount of perfects, your PA implies that you have a low amount of greats and your GA, means you have low goods.
edit: I dont think I've ever heard someone use the term GA though.
Personally my view is that MA/PA (I've never seen GA actually used, just in SM themes), whether it means attack or accuracy, should mean trying to get as many marvs/perfs (or better) as possible, or equivalently, since it's easier for mental arithmetic, to get as few judgments under marv/perf as you can. Of course, it's the ratio that matters more than the absolute number. If you AAA a song with one perfect, and then later missflag AAAA the same song, to me that would be the same MA (since you're getting the same number and ratio of marvs), although the first would have better PA even though there are no greats in either score.
If we're going to talk about history, I just found some random Japanese website which uses P.A. for "Perfect Attack" and seems to have been updated from 1999 to 2002. I haven't been around for nearly that long but hopefully that's at least of some value evidence-wise.
Pretty sure the A stands for Average actually, makes the most sense.

"Oh, just my cock." Replied Foil.
"That just will not do." was keywii's response as she lunged for the scissors, pulled the blades apart, and clamped them down on the base of foil's shaft. Blood start gushing out of the wound where his penis used to be.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Yelled Foil in horror.
"Don't worry. I'm a wizard" uttered Keywii. And with that, Foil's penis grew back.

It would make sense, but when I did a Google search for '"perfect average" ddr' there were only about 100 hits (many of which seem to be referring to other meanings of DDR entirely), compared to 500 for accuracy and almost 3000 for attack. So, unless everyone suddenly stopped using it and forgot they ever had, I doubt that was the original meaning.
