I think there should be different terms used to prevent confusion like this.

For example, PC can stand for perfect count, the amount of perfects you get.

Then, PA would be perfect accuracy which indicates how many greats you get.

i'm not gonna lie, perfect/great/good attack are pretty stupid terms. if it weren't for the fact that it's rooted so much in the music gaming community (not just stepmania, i'm talking the whole bemani community), i'd replace attack with accuracy. i don't think it's necessary for other terms... and frankly, the abbreviations mean the same thing, regardless of how you define each letter (ie you say accuracy, whereas i say attack, but we're conveying the same exact message). so really i don't think it matters what you call it .
