Re: New version of stepmania.com
i didn't know that but my point is is that i shouldn't even have to do that for something as simple as an avatar change
EDIT: you should minify your javascriptLast edited by Fission; 12-13-2013, 04:29 PM.Comment

Re: New version of stepmania.com
@Pseudo Enigma: If you think the site looks bad tell me things you'd like to see from it and I might be able to solve some of those gripes (uh, preferably in the thread over there though, I hardly check over here).
@rCaliberGX: yeah the site used to be really active, things just turned to a mess ever since the damn vB4 update and Chris just doesn't have time for StepMania anymore (I manage stuff now, though, so this isn't a problem anymore)
@Fission: The JS will be minified later, I just don't have it set to automatically do it because I've been changing it so much and the scripts are pretty small as it is.
As for the profile page, yeah, it sucks. It's on my list. The more stuff gets reported the better the site can be before it's out of beta, so I really appreciate any constructive feedback.
I have a roadmap with a lot of the things I have planned - I need to go through the feedback threads and get to addressing issues (and will soon), I just have had a hell of a busy month (I'm trying to get the Skullgirls linux port running before the end of the year) so it's a little delayed.Comment

Re: New version of stepmania.com
Gravatar.
The site says "If you use Gravatar, leave this blank and it will automatically use that as your avatar" or something of the sort.
aka you've used Gravatar for another site, so for any site that uses Gravatar, it'll pull that as your avatar by default.Comment

Re: New version of stepmania.com
would anyone consider starting a new simfile pack (whenever, not necessarily now as I know there are a million running currently) and having *ALL* of the discussion at the beta.stepmania.com forums?

Re: New version of stepmania.com
i already know this is going to be a really controversial suggestion but i'd like the stepmania subforum to be deleted when the new stepmania site is finished to help centralize everything involving stepmania to one forum. this is never going to happen but w/e, thought i'd throw it out there anyways.Comment

Re: New version of stepmania.com
scores forum up!
activity would be pretty sweet. be sure to label threads clearly (keyboard/pad, 4key/6key). posting videos would probably help show any newcomers wtf we're playing.Comment

Re: New version of stepmania.com
Wait. So the Stepmania site will now be offering a files database? Like the old Bemanistyle (RIP in peace)?
I am officially hyped.
By the way, looks pretty good so far. The only problem I've noticed so far is that on the forum index page, the container for each individual forum is stuck at a fixed height, causing text to overflow and overlap all over. In Firebug, if I remove the "height: 3em" from the .forum-subforum class, it fixes the problem.Check out Guessthatalbum.com for a fun music-related game.
I make metal files for keyboard players! Check them out at:

Re: New version of stepmania.com
no, not as far as I'm aware. edit: I am dumb and fail to read the front pages of websites. that is all.
good catch! if you want to make sure they see your tip, try posting in an existing thread or making a new one in the meta forum:By the way, looks pretty good so far.
