Any favorite file I would nominate would be from probably at least 5 years ago. I just haven't played that much of the newer stuff for various reasons. That and the fact that I know I liked files that were not always universally popular, see anything with mines/mines added well before their current popularity really hurts any file that I played a lot.
Loved aperson's Maximizer and Innocent v2, but I highly doubt anyone would ever think to nominate either of those.

all in all, this whole thread just demonstrates the generational gap between everyone, rofl. people prefer the generation/era of simfiles they grew up with, with exception to those that can find appreciation towards modern day simfile making
