Re: FFR Suggestions
Cool beans, 120 is at least a lot better than say, 60. Just robbery at that level... By the way is that just for your engine, or both? I'm assuming both but I could've sworn your last update to the credit cap was just yours.

Re: FFR Suggestions
120 credits now? Nice, not even sure what song you could play to get that amount on the engine!
Feels good to get deserved credits on longer songs:

Re: FFR Suggestions
heh, Stavie had it for rating some of the unsorted charts from the diff switch. Was never meant to come across as trying to be 'special' was just a neat idea I had to put the ring image on both our profiles to celebrate the occassion~Suggestion: Disable and remove "will you marry me" from being a token, it is unnecessary. Was fine for the moment, but keeping it doesnt make sense. You are no more special than anyone else that there needs to be a token limited to only two people (three seeing that you two apparently got married to stavie as well). Save the swf to your computer for your own personal use, but there is no point having a token that can't be unlocked being flaunted on the tokens page.

Re: FFR Suggestions
I think that when you load an FFR Replay and hit "view with replay settings", that all the settings they used should transfer over to the replay. I was playing around with the effects and note-skins to see how decent my scores would be, but when I decided to save a replay none of these things show. For example, here is the Going on Spring Wind replay I saved with tornado active:
Considering that it is registered by the replay, I assumed it would use the effect when I watched it with the replay's settings, but this is not the case. I can understand if the replay was viewed with my settings, but from the replay's settings I feel that the effect should appear. It would also be nice if note-skin choices were saved, so attempts with unconventional options (like letters) would be seen when a replay is viewed.Comment

Re: FFR Suggestions
it'd be cool if you could toggle display of your token level stats average rank on your profile so people that want to whore ranks on those songs can show off, while not obligating anyone else to do it.

Re: FFR Suggestions
Remove all 90+ files from avrank calculations.
No, I'm not kidding. I think this would make FFR a lot more fun for everyone. Let's face it: for all but the very highest players (as in, high D6), ranks on those songs don't reflect skill at all. In fact, ranks basically reflect mashing ability, which we really shouldn't be valuing. Plus, to be honest, most of those files suck for scoring anyway. So by removing them we would make the average rank more useful, without having to make tons of tokens or take files out of the game.
Also, the really top players would be able to get a perfect 1.0 avrank without having to worry about really dumb charts like Crowdpleaser and RATO. 90+ files, even the public ones, would be more or less "just for fun".Best AAA: Policy In The Sky [Oni] (81)

Re: FFR Suggestions
Pros:
- Most files in the 90+ range are really unfun to play in general and terrible for scoring from FFR's current file selection. This removes files like Husigi, WWE, Crowdpleaser, RATO, Revolutionary Etude, and so on.
- Encourages less mashing and better file quality for 1-89, since those are the ones that would matter most with the removal of 90+ from avrank calculations.
- No need to make a lot of tokens. Metro for instance was intended to be a token from its difficulty.
Cons:
- My DP 8-0-0-1, Revolutionary Etude AAA and RATO 23-1-0-3 don't mean anything. Oh wait, nobody gives a shit about those files.Originally posted by hi19hi19oh boy, it's STIFF, I'll stretch before I sit down at the computer so not I'm not as STIFF next time I step a fileComment

Re: FFR Suggestions
I'd rather see legacy songs removed from ranks to be honest
I feel as if just because most of us don't care for them doesn't mean we should neglect them. There are players like Halogen, Luis and Dossar who work hard to score on them and it'd be less worth while to do so if they were removed.
But I mean if they're alright with the change why not I suppose. (By they I meant a majority of d6+ ect.)Comment

Re: FFR Suggestions
I would imagine that the top 200 and everything else would still exist, but that it just wouldn't be calculated towards your average rank. They would probably be the equivalent of token song scores: you play them for fun, and sometimes you go out of your way to get a good score...but it really isn't important for anything other than the satisfaction of doing so. Sick scores will be sick regardless.
I personally wouldn't mind this too much, because then when overkill charts get released, I could just play the chart for fun and keep my average rank. Plus then I can show off my pa scores for new 90+ releases, instead of having to sacrifice cleaner runs for FC'd ones (since they wouldn't count towards anything). Or of course raw scoring could just be implemented, but I don't think I'll ever see the day that happens honestly.Comment

Re: FFR Suggestions
If this gets done, remove legacy files from avrank too as Middie suggested, sure they're nice for nostalgia, but not many want to go out of their way to AAA them.

Re: FFR Suggestions
^^ Separate but also important.
I don't know how I feel about removing 90+ from level ranks. To be honest, although it is a mashfest for ranks on those songs (uhh, make level ranks raw scoring instead, problem solved), you can still use those songs to gauge the levels of the top-tier players, who have to use those files to compete. I guess overall I'm indifferent about the topic.
On the issue of Synthlight songs, I seriously agree that they should be removed from ranks. In my honest opinion, something like a profile badge (yoohoo attention please staff~, since these are obviously code-able on a pretty simple level) saying you AAA'd all the Synthlight files or something would still reward those that take the time to do so, without it plaguing everyone else's ranks.

Re: FFR Suggestions
Why not move them to token level ranks and award an actual token for AAA'ing all of them?
